Yay, another unsolicited post full of opinions, even after I asked for concrete information and not opinions and advice. Is there anyone here who's not an egomaniac?

I can see that. Someone came to the board with a sincere request for information, created a topic for it, and people tromp and drift all over it without much respect. I am starting to think it would be a good idea for people to 'own' thier topic and set nominal guidelines.

Most of the posting on this board has become mind numbing fuzz.

Regulars are great, but sometimes have a tendency to post in-line with thier own needs without much thought and respect into others. I think part of this board's hostility aimed at newbs stems from this.

Mr.Fang's request for info was well within reasonable intentions, others replies were not. And now others are degrading into snide remarks at each other?

There is a problem here people.

You're right. There IS something wrong here. However, there is the other side...

Those of us who may be in the know (to any extent) on the incident are not allowed to say anything, actually, because of the disclosure agreements and whatnot we must sign. Plus/and/or the legal liability involved. So, I was trying (as a good neighbor and frequenter of the board) to point him incongrously in a direction that would help. And by then the gentelman was pretty easy dishing out some not-very-nice words to that.

Add to that - no one seemed to be coming up with the info he wanted - so instead of either realizing no one knew (or was saying) what was going on, or wasn't about to say anything (because, honestly, his question *was* hnky from a legal standpoint) , he came back with snappy retorts..

What did it get me? Called a troll. And then, rather than being part of the community (because there actually *were* a lot of \use who were concerned as hell about all parties involved) and letting us know what the outcome was, he blows us off as if we're pond scum.

OK... I want info.... who has personal information on the person who died on the Playa a couple years ago? You don't know me, but I'm a friend of their family and want to know what's going on. My name is Playa Person, I've posted here a couple times, or not, I'm new here, no one here knows me, but I'm for real. And you can trust me.

Lessee... I could be such a friend. Or a family member trying to find a responsible to sue the hell out of, like someone with that information (it's enough to be named a "Doe".) Or an investigator or lawyer fishing for info. Maybe a media hound looking for info for a totally anti-BM story. A BLM agent investigating a possible crime. A hearse chaser. A nut stalking the family.

There's a lot of ways to find out info. Try the Pershing County S.O. or the BLM or contact the LLC or ask around. IF you have the right to know, then they'll tell you.

Valid points indeed. I'll own my part of detecting a condescending tone to the original post and purposefully going about pushing mr. fang's buttons.

In retrospect, it wasn't a nice thing to do. After all, it seems a fellow burner was hospitalized as a result of something going wrong on the Playa. In spite of how he expressed himself, it seems mr. fang was concerned about his friend and wanted to know what happened. Hopefully, his friend is all right and wasn't seriously injured.

My apologies, I did not know that was involved. But unless I missed it, I dont see where someone told him that until now.

He may have come across judgemental with the opening post, but he did a sufficiant job of clearing that up with his following post.
