Cleanup weekends? When?

Post by HughMungus » Wed Sep 14, 2005 10:46 pm

Anybody know where I can find the schedule of cleanup weekends or who I can contact at BORG to find out? Thinking about flying in for one but don't know the dates. Thanks!

See
http://www.burningman.com/participate/volunteer.html
and scroll down to the bottom re how to volunteer. I'm not aware of a better way to get information other than emailing at the link they give (obfuscated to prevent scraping).

i'd go one step further to this page: http://www.burningman.com/participate/dpw.html

they are working pretty much every weekend from now until it's done.

thanks for wanting to help!

(and be sure to GET IN TOUCH WITH THEM if you want to go out. DO NOT JUST SHOW UP!!!! They have to plan for your presence, and you have to plan for many aspects of your stay, which you won't know about unless you contact them, and they contact you back.)

Hm. I'm sure they're still cleaning now, but, I thought there were specific weekends for cleanups. Regardless, I'll contact the DPW to find out about going up there. Thanks!

Oh and I found the "official" cleanup weekend schedule for the rest of this year (there's also a spring cleanup).

Sept 5 - Oct 6 2005 DPW Clean Up Crew
Sept 23 - 25 Clean Up Work Weekend
Sept 30 - Oct 2 Clean Up Work Weekend

It's what you make it.

You may also call 775.557.2200 for more information. They say don't just show up, by the way. (I know you know this Dallas, but other volunteers may not.) If you can't call, email mayfield at burningman.com for more information, according to the Jack Rabbit Speaks.

If people who want to volunteer aren't subscribed to JRS, you may do so at
