Speaking of art cars...what would you do with a 28' RV.

I was just reading a thread about the Contessa (sp?) and was wondering what I should do with my 28' Class A RV. It runs and drives but wasn't good enough to drive up to Burning Man this year so I'm wondering if I should make it into an art car and if so, what. Thoughts?

28' class A RV? Gawd... Gee, Dallas, you could do damn near anything with it...

Reinforce the top, put a rail around it, cookie-cutter the rest, put in a spiral staircase, make a rolling theme camp.

Moulded fiberglass body - looks like whatever corresponds to the theme next year... or not.

Hell, build a WORKING ship like the Contessa (cal it the Revenge) that doesn't tend to hurt people or run aground, We could have big-boat yacht races across the open playa...

Make a flame-thrower calliope, triggered by an old wurlitzer... down to having the flame jets tuned. (I thought of this when I saw 4 different throwers on an art car which made 4 distinct notes (OK, roars, but they were also musical notes) and play it whereever... using most of the chassis for fuel for the calliope. I wouldn't mind pulling this one off!

Of course... it'd be cheaper to rebuild it as a motor home and use it as such... but it wouldn't be as much FUN as someone playing those old "county fair" wurlitzer pipe flame thrower organs...

Simple- I'd retro fit the whole deal so that every wall and window in the outer shell was sturdy 2-way mirror, which, first off, would look badass and qualify you as a mutant vehicle, and second off, would let you cooly observe everything going on around you from your captain's chair (I know you have one). Look like a big roving Predator alien. Park the thing and watch people check themselves out. Get a faux-exhibitionist thrill by getting funky with your also-naked honey right where people are "looking" (hmm, maybe add an arrow and the words "look here, we're boinking inside" on the outside, for added accuracy.) When that gets old, there's always a campmate to "accidentally" turn on the inside lights.

Let me know if you need help. Though I'll totally expect ride priveleges.

edited for more badass ideamaking

Yes.

You could play that famous on-scene reporter on a loop --

"Oh my god... oh no... oh the humanity..."
Irony. You're soaking in it.
