The Flower?

Post by ZaphodBurner » Mon Sep 12, 2005 10:10 am

...one of my salient memories this year, and of the BM experience period, is of our entire theme camp standing around the playa one night in silent awe gazing up at the flower.

Somebody said Do Lab. Can't find info. Anybody know how to contact them?
We want to extend our thanks.

I heartily concur.

The Flower was awesome. First thing that comes to mind when I describe what cool things were on the playa this year...

It was not only awesome, it made a great landmark (until it moved!)...

But on other flowers...

Postburn Monday, I was going to or coming from a JotS. This guy comes up and hands me a >>get this<< Fresh, cool, moist, and fragrant carnation. A little one, but I was so touched that something so delicate could survive out there at least a week. And still be beautiful.

It was one of the nicest things I could have been gifted, and it's now dried and sitting on my dashboard to remind me of... um... "there", whereever I go.

Definitely one of my favorite memories from this year's event.

The flower was surreal on Friday night before the burn, as it slowly crept closer to "the man" and then behaved as if honoring, respecting and then attempting to seduce "the man". We loved it !!

No doubt one of the many cool things that made the creative expression and art of the "05 burn outstanding, memorable and even noteworthy in relation to other years.

THE FLOWER! My friend and I went on a hike on wed. nite and got driven out to 2:30 and Gestalt and was dropped off! Were all...shiiiiitttt.....we got a long walk home....and thank goodness for that dissaraying art car, we saw stuff we wouldve not seen. The Flower was one of them. Just a rainbow of wierdness out there on the sidelines.

Another favorite landmark was teh beloved RAINBOW CRAYON....I was going back and forth from Lustre which was home, and Otter Oasis. That crayon helped every tiime. Esp. walking across the playa at night. I think of that crayon and sigh..... :)
