A long needed topic to be addressed. I have thought about this often.
Here are my picks:

"Blade Runner"
I second all the "Mad Max" movies
"Until the End of the World" for its dream scape imagery

I'll reply with more later...

BUBBLE BOY!!!!!
This movie surprised me - the only reason I rented it was because I caught a glimpse of a Black Rock-like desert in it.

It's basically a movie about a really sheltered kid who goes out into the world and meets a lot of freaks, who really aren't as freaky as his seriously Christian mother. It's very cute and funny - and of couse Donnie Darko is the star - what a hottie! :) I love his very accepting attitude towards everyone he meets.

Where else will you find an ice cream truck owned by an Indian man that sells Ice Cream and Curry? (Expect maybe in BRC, of course.)

"Spacehunter- Adventures in The Forbidden Zone"....DPW take note- There are some very interesting vehicles in this crappy, but strangely compelling flick. I'm certain that Molly Ringwald is desperate to put this magnum opus behind her, as is Michael ("Scanners") Ironside...He gets to play a twisted mutant villain with big metal claws and a heavily modded golfcart for a lower torso. Watch it with a clothespin on your nose, and pay attention in the Maze Of Death....I expect SOMEONE to make a theme camp based on it.
