Okay, I'm hijacking this thread to post my pics. I did scale them all down to a merciful size, though. These are most of my favorites from BM MMV.

Great action shot on the Junga. That's an outstanding picture.
Thanks to Addis, I had more free time.

Took a lot of patience to get that one. Composition could do with a little cropping, but I left most of them just as captured for now.

Ummm...geocities

I'll see if I can find someplace more suitable. They come back up in a few minutes.

I managed to change them. Good thing I kept the "edit post" window open, because it actually allowed me to edit the post despite the fact that I had posted it more than an hour before. I've got more bandwidth where they are now. Guess I'll have to break down and pay for web hosting soon.

This is on a ferry from Orcas Island, returning to Anacortes in WA state...

Image

About a half hour earlier, it was completely overcast, and raining lightly...

Shot on a D70 if anyone cares...also, my first lesson in the power of a circular polarizer, because as I was aiming, I was rotating the filter, and the rainbow would completely disappear and then reappear as it came back around...

WOW! Outstanding photos! (both of you.)

My father-in-law, who is a retired career master sgt and helicopter crew chief...big Ann Coulter fan...sent an email asking for any new sites about BM05.

Heh. Some interesting galleries out there. "Here's a naked woman bound upside down to the front of a truck with a Corona bottle stuffed---"

("Here's three dozen pictures of your son-in-law painting psychedelic mushrooms on random women's breasts...oh, wait...that's one's your daughter...")

Will remember this thread and pull it up when we go visit this weekend.

GOSH -

Does anyone have a photo of the park bench with the chime umbrella from out in the middle of the playa? I sat there with my reunited (after 5 yrs.) beau, who inspired my journey to BRC, and shared some stories and a moment....would be great to have a photo of this mirage art in the middle of the desert...

[email protected] if you could be so kind....

Thanks for the photos! WOW!

I'm especially happy to see the Temple Burn. I left some of Nipple's ashes in the Temple and have been trying to explain it to my family. I'll send them your pictures if you don't mind.

These are a couple of my pictures from Singularity (the LA/LV regional burn) which happened last weekend. Thanks to everyone who made it a success.

looking at these pictures, i found that as i scrolled down, each time there was an image of fire i started to have a gut reaction of fear and horror...you know, fire is 'bad'! then i'd remember that these are BURNING MAN fires and all of a sudden they are beautiful, and powerful, and ours...

Element 11 photos (elsewhere)

Post by Ranger Genius » Sun Jun 11, 2006 9:22 am

Element11 (The Utah Burn, formerly Synorgy) was a huge success, and I took a whole lot of pictures. Some of the more choice ones have been posted on my blog so that I don't have to use up everyone's bandwidth here (this picture contains a link to the blog in question.)

While I was on the playa for Ranger Training this past weekend, we got hit by a pretty ugly storm just after dawn on saturday. Dumped a lot of rain on us in a short amount of time, and destroyed several shade structures, including the big one that was supposed to house the training. Here's a panoramic picture I took just after the rain stopped. Spice is still sopping wet.
