Playa Pale Ale Auction

Post by RebA! » Sun Sep 25, 2005 10:16 pm

Did you miss your chance to get some of our beer on the playa? Well here is your chance to not only get some beer but help out a good cause at the same time.

One of our dear friends, daughter is laying in a hospital bed in UCLA hospital waiting for a new heart and we wanted to come up with a unique way of raising some money for thier growing hospital bills.

4 bottles of our Playa Pale Ale, complete with playa dust can be yours! http://burningman.bluedream.com/
Please click the Auction for Emily page for more information.

Thank you.
Love, RebA!

Just bumping this up a bit, to say we got 2 very generous bids and I know there are a lot of people out there that cant out bid them.

She is in surgery!
THE CALL!!
At 4;45pm PST we got the news that they have found a heart for Emily! I can't tell you how great this feels! Emily is very excited. SHe will be going into surgery sometime after 10pm PST. Now is time for the hard part. I am heading out to LA right now and will get there about midnight.

At this time of great joy for the Brightwell family I wish to express to the family of the donor my sorry at their loss. I have such mixed emotions about all of this. I want them to know that their loss and their willingness to donote, have given Emily a chance. It truely is the gift of life. Thank you.
So we posted a link to our paypal donation site on the site. We will take up a collection and then send it down to the familys collection fund. So even if its a dollar or something. Shes just 16.

For those of you who did not have the pleasure of sampling this fine ale on the playa, I can attest to the fact that it's one of finest beers that I have ever tasted. Bid early, bid high, bid often!

Lots!
Emily’s new heart is in and beating on its own! She is off the heart-lung machine and now they will watch her for about 2 hours to make sure there is no bleeding. After that they will close her up and this part will be over!

After about 3 hours of sleep we are back at the hospital. Emily is awake and going great! No signs of complications and very little bleeding. She still has the respirator on and a bunch of tubes sticking out be she looks so much better than just a few hours ago.
i'm so happy.
