In 2004 my wife appreciated the guys who laid a board a cross part of the street to cause the bits to bounce when riders went over. 'Course, riders could go around, but like she said, what's the fun in that?

At Mardi Gras 2004, some folks on Royal Street built the "Titty Taxi", aka the "Hooter Hauler." Women were given beads to throw and a cushions to sit on and were toted around on a throne like Cleopatra while participants yelled "All Hail Queen [Whoever]" and carried wherever in the Quarter she needed to go. My wife had so much fun throwing beads at people in costume she forgot she was supposed to flash, but they were cool with that.

Later they asked if they could take a picture for the private website so the women in our group paused for the cause and were given the username and password. Lo and behold they edited little stars over the top of the girls' nipples because most of the creators were Christians. Ironically, a blurb about it made it into Playboy.

There were, of course, countless thousands of fratboys and corporate tourists a block away, but it wasn't about them. Unless they commit a crime, they're invisible. That's the lowest-feeling place a guy on the hunt can be at a party.

Dallas, we live in a world that has tits.
And those tits have to be guarded by men
with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You,
75 foot man? I have a greater
responsibility than you can possibly
fathom. You weep for Critical Tits and you
curse the by-standers. You have that luxury.
You have the luxury of not knowing what I
know: That by-standers, while tragic,
probably saved lives. And my existence,
while grotesque and incomprehensible to
you, saves tits.

Thank you for reminding me why I always camp on the outer road.

Next year, maybe I'll try walk-in camping. The year after that, the airport.

If she was a boot at P.I. from 1999 - 2003 chances are I know
one or more of her martial arts instructors/D.I. `s
-now DBA TRITON Marine Corp Martial Arts
and yes they WILL kick your ass.

I`m very proud of those who are brave enough to sport
the eight point cover, especially in this time of war and insecurity.

I can`t however account for everyones individual attitudes or behavior.

To most Marines improvising and adapting comes easily.

Some have to spend extra time with the 2nd and 3rd hats.

if you catch my drift

Last I heard she had slammed OCS and gotten her commission, probably in 1992. One time I saw her max the Men's PFT and then run a fourth mile to cool down. Looked just like Richie Cunningham's little sister. But that brings up another point:

The Corps now has its own martial art that they didn't teach nearly enough of back when. Little bro came home from San Diego last year pulling out all this psycho jarhead ninja shit... I want my friggin' money back! :>

Just because she kicked your ass doesn't necessarily mean she's all that tough.

And if Dallas is a former Marine, my hats off to him and thanks.

You confuse rather easily, huh? Read for comprehension this time:

She didn't kick my ass. I said she could kick YOUR ass. Veronica and I served in the Marines together. ("...Marine named Veronica...")

As to whether she's all that tough, I also pointed out that she earned the maximum score on the MEN'S Marine Corps Physical Fitness Test...and than ran an extra mile to cool down.

Maybe she's not "tough" but it begs the question: What did YOU score on the USMC men's PFT?

C'mon, wipe the egg from your face like a big boy. I notice you ask questions instead of answering ones already asked of you.

I'm not afflicted with such insecurity and I'm not afraid to answer your questions:

Wrong as usual, sport. I drive a really small Toyota Echo. Although, to be honest, as necessary I drive a jeep, a van, a Cessna 172 and a Piper Arrow II.

Was it ME that stirred up the turds on this thread?

I was simply expressing my related opinions about the alleged rampant

Geez. You`d think we were democrats and republicans or something.

This is starting to get weird.
Now we`ve brought in the Marines.
This seems to happen everywhere I give an opinion about something.

(1) I DO drive a big-assed 4WD truck (NOT an SUV, a TRUCK, damnit)... and a Cadillac, too. A motorcycle. And some antique stuff with 3 pedals on the floor (none of which is the accelerator). And occasionally an International, a Kenworth, and sometimes even an A/C Grader. Sprechen Sie Unimog? Ich spreche. >>grins<< Sno-go? Ja. Oshkosh (yeech!). Yeah. Kubodas are fun, as are John Deere articulated loaders. YAY!!!

Oh, by the way... I learned how to run a D-4 with various attachments (rock drill, auger, etc) back when it was all mechanical PTO powered (for the most part - the blade was hydraulic) when I was about... Jeez... 8 or so. And this in the Nevada Desert.

Guess I'm not the mousy housewife type, huh? >>giggles<<

(2) Curious - What "Corp"? I seem to remember an "s" on the end of that, when speaking of the Corps. . And that's something you don't forget when it's hammered home... (And when I was that age if you were before a judge the Corps was NOT an option - you *might* have gotten the choice between the Army or the Graybar, but Unca Sams Misguided Children had higher standards than criminals...

MUCH higher. PLEASE don't tell me things are different now.

God Bless Chesty,
and good night.

No. I just have an obviously minority contrary opinion about men being at CT. Turds need to be stirred. We'll never grow as a community if we all acquiesce to the majority because we don't want conflict. Some conflict can be good. The ePlaya is not Burning Man; in fact, I think this IS the place we should be arguing if we need to argue about something (instead of on the non-e Playa.
I was simply expressing my related opinions about the alleged rampant
breast abuse on the playa.
I didn't say anything about breasts being abused. That's not my point at all. My point is that the event is for women and men should not be there.
Geez. You`d think we were democrats and republicans or something.

Who's being trivial and nasty? I don't feel that way.
Is It Me?
No, we just disagree. An opinion can never be wrong. Just don't tell me I'm wrong about what I think CT is without being able to tell me why you think I'm wrong. That's just annoying.

To clarify my reasoning: Women need their own environments and events. It's a sociological thing. A good example is all-girl schools (to wit: http://www.csmonitor.com/cgi-bin/wit_ar ... learning.2). The "frat boys" thing is just a symptom.
It's what you make it.

Montana and Dallas, if I propose a couple of hypothetical scenarios, would you be so kind as to weigh in with your opinions?
I'm not trying to provoke anything but rational discussion.

CT is too popular with the participants to justify cancelling.

As an alternative, the women could congregate out past the man and then ride around for a couple of hours out by the fence where they won't encounter much in the way of spectators or bad vibes. They can have a nice relaxing topless ride in the sun.

OR

They can continue with the ride as it is, BUT, when they encounter men, the men will all avert their eyes and turn away and ignore the women so as not to cause any discomfiture.

You needn't point out that it's impossible, please just give me your opinion.

Well, thanks for trying to be a peace-maker.
But, here`s what I see when I think about your suggestion.

1)It is not a real issue for most of the participants.(starting to flinch now when I say Participate) CT is not in any danger of being cancelled or changed in order to make it safe for our ladies to have their fun.

2)As far as the trash fence,... Would you think it prudent to hold the Million Man March on the backstreets of Harlem so that black men can be with their own kind, and not get their feelings hurt by the biggots that may shout a racial slur? Or maybe hold Critical Mass in SF in golden gate park so that the irrate motorists won`t try to cut them off in traffic? These may seem like silly comparisons, but they are fairly synonomous with what you are suggesting. And the Averting of eyes....that would be absolutely shameful. What a disgusting feeling that would project on the whole event. It would mock the very premise of CT which I believe is the
pride and empowerment of women.

I could go on, but I think I`ve given my opinions fairly clearly and don`t have alot more to add to a discussion trying to fix something that`s not broken.

Note:

I was not speaking for Montana.

And even though I`m sure we agree
she will have plenty to add because she is an actual
bearer of the before expounded upon(emphasis on pound) TITS
and I`m sure she will,.. if she wants, when she gets time...If you`ll
read back abit....she already has....

....and as a matter of fact guys...

Females have been dominating this planet for ages now

Instead of going to prison for robbing a store clerk at knifepoint, a St. Charles teenager on Tuesday was allowed to enlist in the Marines in lieu of punishment for the crime.

Alex Chase, 18, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft, not the armed robbery charge he faced for the Sept. 4, 2003, holdup at Peterson's Hardware Store in Hampshire.

The recent Burlington Central High School graduate faced 6 to 30 years in prison for robbing the store of about $250, a crime that sparked a county-wide manhunt.

My affection for Chesty goes back to when I had to do a book report in High School - we had to draw a book out of a bag without looking - and got his biography. Cool, as my BF had *just* enlisted in the Corps, and once I read his story - I understood. Awesome, amazing man.

Yes, I've drilled, packed, tamped, set, and shot. Having small hands (and that was *my* cat, dammit! >>giggles<<) I got to do it all. We used either an electric cap and a mag off an old 1 lung motor, or DC. (FUN stuff, that!) Nowdays, kids just can't have the fun we used to...

And no, it wasn't my 'mog, tho had I the space... After all, what girl WOULDN'T want a new Mercedes? >>giggles<<

Now... funny you should mention... I kinda want to take up climbing myself. Just for the fun of it.

It is true that in some instances a person might be allowed to obtain military training instead of punishment. This has been true for decades. The reason being that it is the opinion of some judges that the training received will be more benefitial to them than jail time or a fine would be. It is often the opinion of the judge that the individual would probably come out of the training being a more responsible and self-sufficient member of society and having higher self-esteem and be less likely to commit crimes in the future. It isn't offered to everyone. Generally it is offered where the judge thinks the crimes are basically due to immaturity, lack of proper guidance, poor judgement, etc.

I would say it is offered on a case-by-case basis and really depends a lot on the individual and quite possibly even the prosecuter. For example, a generally good kid who has no record who has fallen in with a rough circle of "friends". The kid might be genuinely sorry for the crime and now be facing a totally messed up life with a felony conviction. In cases like this the kid is given a chance to "straighten up and fly right". He is going to be given training under very strict 24x7 supervision (at least at first).

I believe that this is a very good option in certain circumstances and support the use of it. I believe it has turned around more lives than not.
