Come on guys.. SOMEONE here knows what the theme is going to be next year. Maybe not the full detail, but at least the general idea. Cough it up!

i keep seeing people online say 2006 is the 20th anniversary - which it would be, of the time larry made a man and burned him. but on my calendar and history it lists 2005 as the 20th burn, since the "idea" started the year before at someone elses party.....
i'm just curious if the same people who put together the calendar will be working on the "20th anniversary" stuff next year....

Ah. Once David Letterman had a "We're too tired to put on a show" show. I hear it was pretty funny. Too bad larry doesn't crib from the old nbc dave.
It's a sorry thing when you want larry to crib from dave....
Is there a support thread for this?

Actually it will be Canadians take Over! Street names? Alberta, Ontario, Northwest Territories. Hudsen Bay Blanket art cars will blanket the streets. Maple Syrup for All! And the Quebecois will devolve and start their own event--merging with BORG2 and the remnants of La Contessa's crew.

I'm kinda liking this Canadian theme idea but they can keep much of their beer North of the border. Some of it makes me think that moosepiss would taste like this.

I hate to say it, but the well consumed old guard here in the States (i.e. Bud, Miller, Coors, and shall I even mention, Schlitz, Schaffer, Old Milwaukee, Pabst, etc - that somehow still manages to find a market) is nothing to brag about either. Thank the beer gods for the introduction of superior microbrewery style beers in the past 10-15 years (Sam Adams, Pyramid, Pete's Wicked, Gordon Biersch, etc.) so I don't have to rely on expensive Euro imports.

The theme will be "The Burning Man Experience Project." Participants will be encouraged to relive the theme from those nostalgic years "back in the day" when Burning Man was so much better.

I know what you can use as a working theme, because I'm pretty sure that the final one will be quite similar to it. In fact, this is always the REAL theme, irrespective of what we call it:
"Pseudointellectual Claptrap"
"Pseudointellectual Claptrap"

Some time back, when I was guessing about '05's theme, I suggested "Anima Mundi"- It has the hoity-toity titular nomenclature that seems to be part of the theme tradition, but simply put, just means "Animals". I'm still mad about missing "The Floating World", AKA "Fish Year", and enough people always do animal-based stuff that I think it's a shoe-in. The ring streets would be Kingdom, Phylum, Order, etc.. (I forget how that stacks, sorry.) I know that Certain Clever Persons are already working on Certain Giant Insects for next year......

Hey.
How about a "Law and Disorder" theme?
Strip searches at the front gate.
The Man could be chained up in the pokey under heavy guard.
Once inside, everyone could be "the man".
We could be doing various sting operations and undercover work,
endless surveillance of various targets and other "agencies"
constantly trying to trap and bust everyone for everything....even the LEO`s couldn`t tell who was real or not. Have people on every corner
selling fake weed & acid, then arresting those that showed the slightest interest... informants would be all over.
Center camp could be like a prisoner martialing area with various
cells and holding areas...no one can bail themselves out because there is no commerce....mandatory time for all .
Streets could be named:
Assault (or Apprehension)
Burglary
Complaint
Detective
Evidence (or Entrapment)
Felony (or Fine)
Grand Jury
Homicide

Kingdom, Superphylum, Phylum, Subphylum, ....species, subspecies, variety, individual. Or somthing like that--I'm not into claudastics. Of course we could crop off kingdom from teh front, because it's Animalia, not Flora or fungi or green algea. Or whatever...robotland wrote:theCryptofishist wrote:Kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species
I am such a geek.
Thanks, Fishie! ()I guess they'll have to have bigger blocks to use those streetnames, or add "planet" and "individual" on each end to make nine....
