DnB camp should be just to the right from DnA camp. Tip: YOu can fit more tents on a double helix than you can on a straight line.

Would that be like the guy at 3:00 in the morning? HIs music was the worst on the playa. And the loudest. He run out of stuff to say. But just kept on yamering. I've hired bands like that. The people come to dance not listen to bunch of crapp. In thesse cases the dancers had to shout the speaker down. Then tell them to make music or not get payed. On the playa the only way to hear a speaker is to be a 100 yards from the stage. Or in the case above, Across town.

thanks man I appeciate the encouragment....anyway sure there are lots of emcees that suck there are also lots of djs that suck, lots of guitar players that suck, lots of drummers that suck,ect....if you are gonna base your opinion on a whole movent of music off of "some guy you heard at 3am" that would be pretty closed minded of you....and I have no idea if that guy at 3am you heard was a DnB emcee or not....

peace and beats

I think it's a great idea! Just keep it as far away from Wheeeee!Ville and Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro as the limits of our fair city will allow.

I would like to point out: The amped spoken word is hard to hear on the playa froma stage. There was a hill-billy theme camp up front and blasting out onto the playa. People would slow down and stare at the stage Then just move long. One torch singer sounded like she was passing some bad gas. The next time I passe that stage I was way out in the playa. Bout 200 yard. I could hear them just fine. Didn't miss anything. He was trying to rap in hill-billy. One of the dirtyest mouths i've ever heard. If your going to mc make sure your sound mixer knows what there going.

^^^
this is very true and I agree with you completly on this if done correctly though it will work...the key is to have the bass cut out of the mic line....it really kills your delivery if you are not used to it but cuts the the reverb way back so it does not sound nearly as horrible....I have played many outdoor events and this has been a seriuous problem before...one I personally know how to solve ;)

Hey Sake, my group at this last burn had a camp that was DnB focused called "The Bush" and it went really well, including the few MCs who performed. We will all definately be back again for 2006.

I know during my wanderings I found a few other scattered DnB camps as well, so it's definitely there, you just gotta look.

If you wanna hook up with us check out our web site at:

And I assumed it would be kinkier--Dribbles and Beatings, perhaps.

Not a DnB camp, but we'll be bringing sound and playing many genres, including DnB. If you want to plan ahead and MC over our sets, that'd be sweet. We'll have to keep in touch.

DnB at Alien Nathans Roadhouse

Post by Rage » Thu Dec 15, 2005 12:39 am

You would have enjoyed some DnB with us last year, but we could not compete with the sheer volume of Deep End. They ran nearly 24 hours of House...yuk!

We are proposing a huge dome on the outer rim (see my other post).
Last Day will have some DnB for you as well as a lot of variety in dance grooves.

jungle on the playa

Post by kryptyk » Fri Jan 20, 2006 8:03 pm

thank god -- i went nuts last year looking for drum & bass. found one camp on the fringes, but nothing else but mostly bad breaks and house. this year i'm at least brining the ipod -- probably set up the FM station again (point me to your online jungle mixes -- at least 128 kbps mp3 or better :) ).

peace and respect
