So spin away laughing boy, a thread is not created by simply labeling it, there has to be intent and a creative spark n'stuff.
As the former instigator-in-chief of the not so famous Gender Blender Bar, this thread's potential held some promise. Instead I get some cryptic sentence fragment and yet another "topic" category to wade through.
But that's OK, 'cuz I brought in my entire collection of Celine Dion CDs and I'm a-gonna rock!

I will be the first to admit that I am a "girly man".
I'm not a sports fan nor do I care for cars. I don't know how to fix anything mechanical. My tool box consists of a couple screw drivers and a big rock. I have long hair which I constantly complain about not being able to do anything with it. I own more shoes than you average guy, at my maximum I had 7 pairs, all for different uses and occasions. Every so I often I dress up just because. There is more, but that is the gist of it.

Please forget the words that I just blurted out
It wasn't me, it was my strange and creeping doubt

>I'm not a sports fan nor do I care for cars.
Yep
>I don't know how to fix anything mechanical. My tool box consists of a couple screw drivers and a big rock.
Okay, I do know how to fix things and I own more tools than will fit in a
couple of trucks. Own more than a couple of trucks too.
>I have long hair which I constantly complain about not being able to do anything with it.
I have short hair because although I would like to have long hair, I have never been happy with my hair when it was long and there are "work drag" issues in my life.
>I own more shoes than your average guy, at my maximum I had 7 pairs, all for different uses and occasions.
How many shoes does an average guy own? Seven is about what I have and I would like to have more. Can't get enough hats either but I am never satisfied with what they look like when worn so I usually just collect them.
>Every so I often I dress up just because.
I promise I will do that more often.
I am not a girly man. Just a man. I am trying to be more girly because I think it is good for me.

"The women have won, if you've won when you have worse sex than your grandmother did. Secretly they don't find these men very exciting, either. And they don't feel feminine when they're with them. What does "feminine" mean anyway, besides the result of a lot of grooming rituals drag queens can do too?"

I notice that I cry easier then I used to. I've become much more interested in interior decorating and whether my belt matches my shoes. I want to cook more. And even though I've always enjoyed wearing a dress, clothes do not make the man. So go figure. I'm making my own model.

Don't worry sweetie it happens to the best of us! (I think I have a crush on you btw~plus my middle name is Alicealice wrote:if i'm so awesome than why am i alone, undersexed and just want to cry.
On the subject though~ I think a girly man is someone who is in touch with his feelings and is intuitive and sensetive. My boyfriend has more shoes than I do, takes over an hour to pick out his outfit and takes better care of his clothes than I do...but I would never call him a girly man.

I am far from a girly man
I believe the term “girly man” was used on Saturday Night Live for someone that did not have the muscle structure similar to our now idiotic California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. One point I got from this skit was how ridiculous people, like Arnold, are for thinking that physical strength will make them more manly.
Obviously his physical strength, by circumstance of popularity, has helped Arnold stumble into positions of power. This does not mean that he is actually a better man.
So, in my fact, a “girly man” does not follow this macho attitude that some members of society constructed and believe. This does not mean that non-macho men, classified as “girly” by some, are in touch with their feminine side or that they are gay. They are just men who do not follow a narrow mental path and/or do not give a crap about what the macho-mentality thinks.
I, for example, have been called a fag most of my life. In my younger years this was surprising, having sex with a man was not on my permanent record. Over the years I wondered why people would say this. Eventually I figured it out. I am a fag by their definition. Defined by generations of insecurity and hate.
Have I had sex with men? Yes. Have I had sex with women? Yes, more so then men, women rock. I am married to an awesome woman. Do you think I am a fag or a girly man? If so, you have missed the point and/or are still conditioned with macho-mentality.
On the playa I was riding this pseudo mechanical bull type animal on a spring while wearing a short skirt and torn fishnets. I do not remember which theme camp. The host was tossing me around pretty hard. I held on the entire time. Once finished, they guy said, “not bad for a guy wearing a skirt” and I physically replied by whipping out my penis and showing him all my metal. That disgusted him and made me laugh.
I figure some men are just plain jealous when they see men wearing something sensual, such as, the women’s low-rise jeans and a crop shirt that I wore on the playa. They are probably jealous because I/we look better then they or their girlfriend would in that outfit. Or maybe they are scared because it turns them on.
BTW, I work in construction and have more tools than some can dream of having.

i think it fair to say since i created this thread that yes i am a girlie guy.
there is only one ePlayan that knows this of me for a fact.
i put the other threads up first before i put up girlie men to see what the reaction would be . so yes they were ploys and fronts. for fun of course.
i am very sensitive and i know that. but not the way or in the areas that most would think. in fact i learn more about myself this way everyday.
one thing is for sure. i am not into watching sports (well football, baseball) there are some sports i will watch and not the MACHO ones and that's all i'll say for right now. i just want to sit back and learn from the rest of you for awhile right now.
if that's ok.

Are you sure your not a "Metrosexual" instead?
metrosexual (MET.roh.sek.shoo.ul) n. A dandyish narcissist in love with not only himself, but also his urban lifestyle; a straight man who is in touch with his feminine side.

It sounds a lot more appealing than being called a girly man.
