Full Moon Party, Yes or No?
Full Moon Party, Yes or No?
My girlfriend and I are going to Thailand in January. We'll be there for three and a half weeks, so we have time to see a lot of the popular sites. We've always wanted to go to the full moon party, but now, as we talk to many of our burner friends, they say that the party sucks. What seems to be the case is, after going to burning man, and dancing all night in mostly clean areas, with mostly friendly people, it's a huge disappointment when you see the amount of garbage on the beaches, aggressive police action, and general unfriendlyness. Can anybody back this up? Is it worth going to the full moon party? Or should we spend our time there more wisely. Actually, it looks like we are meeting some friends there, so we are going nomatter what, but I'd still like to know what other burners think of it.

Never been to Thailand and never heard of the moon party. ONe of the big reasons to travel is to experience things directly and things that are different than home. ON that level--go. My question is is it a local thing or some sort of nasty thing that tourists do? Yes if the first, no if the 2nd.
