Make sure Cryptofishie stomps out the fire after today's Burn, would you? (I'll miss the VirtuPlaya, while I'm gone tomorrow!)

A C-130 aircraft comes into view from the south bearing due north at 15,000ft.
Almost directly overhead the aircraft appears to be jetisoning a large
piece of cargo and several smaller objects.
Immediately a large parachute canopy opens above the large object, then other parachutes begin opening and travelling windward north towards deep playa. They gradually descend and fade from view behind a mountain peak......

A cloud appears on the horizon, drawing slowly closer and what originally sounds like a faint hum begins to sound more like motors and gears .

....with binoculars, you can just make out an M1a2 Abrams tank dragging a large skid and a line of various trailers. The strange clanking shuddering Hissing snake of equipment changes course and heads straight for the encampment....

*Black Rock privateers slip away from the ranch and suddenly, back on the playa, the Contessa appears on the horizon...*

Either the army came for bacon or this will be the first-ever naval attack to take place in a desert.

*Propagandists e-mail Michael Moore: "The army is attacking a school bus!"*

*Burners in pirate clothes stuff six hundred pounds of black powder into one of Contessa's guns*

Wormhole. That's just great. As I recall last time there was a playabased wormhole a years worth of dust got trapped there and then was disbursed in a day. I coughed my throat raw.

So what should today`s theme be?
It`s "Friday"..maybe the theme should be "Flare"?

I think I saw some flares back in one of these trailers in a box
marked M-something.....
...let`s see(rifles through trailer)....
M-203...no......M-18A1....no......Mk19.....wow......M-109A6....WOW....
.....MLRS....! ! ! ...I think I may be in trouble.

How'd I end up here? I'm virtually amazed at my good fortune. Any PBR left?

....

I kind of liked the Damn the Torpedos idea so I could play chicken with one of those military contraptions. Maybe I'd win for once, it being the year of the rooster and my lucky day and all.

Hey wait a minute....I could have sworn I already did this.

Wasn`t I just over there looking for a wormhole or something???

Hm. Marine distress flares. Flared jeans. Flaring at the refinery. I guess I'll be a flaring queerfish today.

Got any of those M666s?
