Epic
I think "Epic" would be a good theme.
It's broad and can be taken in any direction one wants.

Yeah, that would be great. I was just reading about Cleavage in Space and found some pictures.MoisturePup wrote:I think "Epic" would be a good theme.

EPIC
In the year 2014 people have access to a breadth and depth of information unimaginable in an earlier age.
Everyone contributes in some way.
Everyone participates to create a living, breathing mediascape. However, the Press, as you know it, has ceased to exist. The Fourth Estate’s fortunes have waned. 20th Century news organizations are an after-thought, a lonely remnant of a not too distant past.
The road to 2014 began in the mid-20th Century.

Don't start chiseling THAT headstone QUITE yet...People in general would still rather WATCH news than MAKE it....or even just REPORT it. MY prediction- by 2014, we'll have TEN TIMES the current data flow....and there will be TEN TIMES FEWER people literate enough to interpret it. As for everyone's contribution....An opinion, as opposed to an analysis, is only so valuable.scotto wrote:In the year 2014 people have access to a breadth and depth of information unimaginable in an earlier age.

Or solvent enough to afford a broadband feed like that...robotland wrote:MY prediction- by 2014, we'll have TEN TIMES the current data flow....and there will be TEN TIMES FEWER people literate enough to interpret it.
"Honey, we can't afford the dataflow like everyone else cause our credit rating was refused by the company!"

A Summary of the World
If we could, at this time, shrink the Earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look like this:
• There would be 57 Asians, 21 Europeans, 14 from the Western
Hemisphere (North and South) and 8 Africans.
• 70 would be non-white; 30 white.
• 70 would be non-Christian; 30 Christian.
• 50% of the entire world wealth would be in the hands of only 6 people.
All 6 would be citizens of the United States.
• 70 would be unable to read.
• 50 would suffer from malnutrition.
• 80 would live in sub-standard housing.
• Only 1 would have a college education.
When one considers our world from such an incredibly compressed perspective, the need for both tolerance and understanding becomes glaringly apparent.

Fortunately, war wouldn't be in the picture. 100 people could easily come to at least a tolerance level of relations. In fact, you could have twice that many and still reasonably get along.
Sure, there'd be words and possibly fisticuffs, but it likely wouldn't go past that because everyone would know everyone.

Oh man. The 50-80 that have sub-standard living conditions would totally beat up the 6 wealthy people!diane o'thirst wrote:Fortunately, war wouldn't be in the picture. 100 people could easily come to at least a tolerance level of relations.
