I'm not sure if Digiman has figured out how to be clear about his thread
topics yet. So we may wanna move on without him.

I've got some questions about bisexuality (and yes, i'll answer them
myself in a bit as well). It is never really clear to me how most bisexuals
handle their long term relationships and i'd love to hear about this a bit
from some folks who've had that experience.

-- If you are bi, do you picture yourself ever "settling down" with just one
person? Do you imagine that to be someone of either sex, or do you
find that you prefer one sex over the other for long term commitment?

-- If you are bi, do you ever feel that your bisexuality makes long term
commitment seem unlikely, or does it really make no difference? Do you
prefer monogamy or polymory?

-- If you've dated a bi person... how did their bisexuality make you feel
(nervous/excited/jealous/etc.)? Why? How did you deal with that?

(thanks to girlie for trying to rescue this thread.)

my take on it (and i could be wrong) is that diversity of preference doesn't require an inability to settle down with just one person. i have a preference for blondes, but not exclusively so. and i can certainly see myself settling down forever with a non blond, and giving blonds up entirely.

but, that analogy may not map, especially since most people i know who profess to be bisexual seem to treat their relationships with the different sexes (and species, for pj) quite differently.

The "love them, kill them, eat them" sequence varies between species, but that's about the only difference.

Me, painfully hetro- thought about trying it, but it's just not in my gears.

She, bisexual, we've been in a relationship for the past 4 1/2 years.

We also have many, many friends that are bisexual. From what I gather, a person is a person is a person. If you are in love with someone, either sex, you are in love with that person. You simply have a larger set to choose from.

I will say that our bisexual male friends tend to be VERY promiscious. Almost to the point of me saying that every bi male I've known was a slut (in a good way, and they would be the first to admit it).

J says that while her female love relationships were sweet, she misses the penis and tends to develope long term relationships with men.

And this concludes about as much as I know on the subject. Anything else would be pure opinion not based upon any viewed factual evidence.

You're being too modest. She really said, "The Big Italian Sausage," didn't she?

I definaty have found that being bisexual has not stopped me form having long term exclusive reationships, in fact I often perfer them to a bunch of dating flings. as far as being a slut I have been accused but I'm sure that I would still be a slut if I were straight or gay... =)

I don't see myself settling with a person not a gender, but I know my life will be drastically different depending on the person and on their gender. But I'm very serious about marriage commitments, I don't ever want a divorce.

In my experience I can't really control who I fall for.. so we will see who I end up with.

I am bisexual and being my age and in the Midwest where it is not accepted by many people it is hard to have a relationship with the same sex. In the Midwest you can't just wake down the street with someone of the same sex and kiss each other without someone saying or dong something. Some place will even kick you out for it. But I went to California for the first time after Bm last year and saw a gay couple holding hands walking ad kissing. No one really paid attention. This effects bisexual, gay as lesbians in a way that I can't put into words.

That's way I want to move out of the Midwest!

hey Dragontear,

I've wanted to ask you something ever since your very very first post on the "old" eplaya. If it's too blunt and you don't wanna answer that's cool, but I'm throwing it out there anyway:

How many people of each sex have you had sexual relations with?

animefan wrote:The nudity being ok is a given (and very cool!) but with all the sexual theming at BM and some hints that public sex can get you arrested (but at the same time reading reports that you *can* get away with public sex) leaves me confused as to what I should expect should I ever darken the gates of BRC (BM virgin here...) can any type of public sex get you in trouble? can it be safely done in designated camps? what if I am sitting in the sun pleasantly naked, warm and sto*ed (yes I know be careful with the smoking) and I get a stiffy can I get away with playing with it without getting hauled off? I hope this doesnt make me sound like a pervert or a troll or anything but I know me when I get inebriated, naked and comfortable with my surroundings =)

I am not trying to incite a flame war or troll or anything this is an issue I have been wondering about since I have never been to BRC and want to be as 'free' as possible but don't want it to cost me jail time.

Im glad someone posted this topic because i really want someone to lay down what you can and can't get away with as far as public sexual display because you can read the rumors all over the web of both yes you can and it has been done and no you better not. If there was a time you could smoke MJ there around cops and it has now passed, maybe the rules will inevitably come crashing down on it all?
i think it's sad that things have gotten to the point where everyone has to ask what is ok and what is not. it was'nt that way in the old days of burningman. i gues the same goes for the old ePlaya huh?

I'm just now leaving work and checked this before I went out the door. Obviously she forgot the comments about her spelling and the giggles crap she had on the old e-playa.

The new dog we have chewed her ethernet cable up while we were gone to BM, and I screwed off on getting it fixed till earlier this week. With posts like that maybe I should have waited longer. But 4 weeks without online chat and all didn't help her catch up on her homeschooling so I gave up and fixed it.

And unlike the old board, I am not coming to her defense...she's not a playa virgin anymore so you won't run into any buzzsaw defenses from me. Let her have it...maybe she'll get the point and clean up her posts.

(Her Tiff...there's an edit button now. You might want to check it out? We also have preview over here!!!!)

Oh, and just to make sure people know...I am not DT, and she is not me. There are people on here who saw both of us at BRC and know there is a difference. She posts from home, I post from home and work. Hopefully that will silence the critics.

Ok wait a sec... I was actually thinking she was communicating much more clearly than before.

And Dig - that she's already been given her ration of shit from those who tend to serve it.

Digi, I think the reason no one jumped on her spelling this time round would be that she seems (to me) to have put some effort into spelling, punctuation, & grammar. 2 misspelled words in a post is a far cry from every third word being misspelled.

Small steps first.

You might start with passing potty training.

Perhaps in Tiff's case she didn't mean, "All at the same time."
