Twas a most interesting editorial in the paper about the original meaning of the word 'merry', and I heartily wish the same to you!!!cowboyangel wrote:would never think of insultin that my darling. You know giggles... damned if I know for without any doubt how to pronounce it. Remember now, I know just enough French to really butcher it up right.
I’ve heard it pronounced several different ways...
“Le” is pronounce “Luh”
"Chat" I’ve heard pronounced both “Shat” and Shah”... I’m thinking it's actually sort of a combinationof the two (soft t instead of hard?), but I can never get a straight answer, since anytime I pronounce, regardless of the way, my accent coupled with anything French leads to hysterical laughter from anyone who actually can speak the language and they never get around to telling one way or the other.
Perhaps some kind, wise soul could enlighten both you and I. We could then be clear about all of this and get on to the business of matching up a cat with a lap...

Well, hell yeah. There are two incredibly hot women in the bar tonight.gigglesnort wrote: Awww, sput! Did you just call me beautiful? Thanks, space man. What's news on the satellite picture art project?
The project is progressing. I've got some help on the web site from Regionalchoas and Mozy Bonz. I'm working on an art grant proposal. I'd like to have that wrapped up and sent in before the year is over. It really doesn't need too much more. Some estimating of costs and such. I'm psyched! And I fear it

Hope and fear, hey! I hope I get to see your work, and I fear I won't. *sigh*sputnik wrote:The project is progressing. I've got some help on the web site from Regionalchoas and Mozy Bonz. It's really great at parties... that is if you don't mind people yelling "Hey everybody!!! come over here quick", and then telling you to say it again.Hey puss, I think us suthernly sort are just SOL when it comes to speakin french
*sigh*
It's not that bad really... in fact I'm damn proud of my accent. I've received more compliments than snarky remarks. But enough of all that!!
In the end it I tend to believe our voices have a character much becoming of our beautiful South. And though I must run at the moment, I shall take with me, as a memento, a glass of Woodford Reserve on the rocks... a bourbon almost as sweet as the fine feminine company with which we graced this evening.
(raises glass in toast)
Be back later!!
Oh.. and giggles. Sensei and I agreed at the Meet &Greet that you will be there in '06 if we must collect you ourselves.
