The thread's drifted, you have people's attention and Rob asked a good question to you. How about reconsidering the ignore option and answering it? If you're trying to get a message out or prove a point you've got the audience...now's the time.

Heck I admit I can't really answer the question myself...but he didn't direct it to me, he directed it to you. You started the drift...finish it. And take your shot at influencing the rest of us about what you're thinking here.

ABOUT THE WOMEN OF THE ROYAL HAREM; AND OF THE KEEPING OF ONE'S OWN WIFE

THE women of the royal harem cannot see or meet any men on account of their being strictly guarded, neither do they have their desires satisfied, because their only husband is common to many wives. For this reason among themselves they give pleasure to each other in various ways as now described:

OF THE WAY HOW TO BEGIN AND HOW TO END THE CONGRESS. DIFFERENT KINDS OF CONGRESS AND LOVE QUARRELS

IN the pleasure-room, decorated with flowers, and fragrant with perfumes, attended by his friends and servants, the citizen should receive the woman, who will come bathed and dressed, and will invite her to take refreshment and to drink freely. He should then seat her on his left side, and holding her hair, and touching also the end and knot of her garment, he should gently embrace her with his right arm. They should then carry on an amusing conversation on various subjects, and may also talk suggestively of things which would be considered as coarse, or not to be mentioned generally in society

Well then, thank me!

You're welcome.

in my perspective, a human who has perfected breathless samadhi, being fully animated by the heart consciousness and no longer dependant on oxygen in the blood system, would turn blue...such as ancient depictions of the incarnations of visnu...

I deplore brutality, It's not efficient. On the other hand, prolonged mistreatment, short of physical violence, gives rise, when skillfully applied, to anxiety and a feeling of special guilt.

It's never too early or too late for good tequila.

Benjamin Franklin said "Beer is a sign God loves us and wants us to be happy"
And, BTW, God is insight.
All these entities you speak of are artifacts of consciousness.
Doesnt make them less real./
All living things have some level of consciousness, animals more than plants etc.
Consciousness starts with the Desire to Know, uses imagination and insight to move to understanding and judgement.
When you read a detective story and have all the clues but you don't know who did it, but then you do. How? with an Insight.
These ideas come from the western traditions, Heraclitus and the Greeks, through the Dark Ages with Boethius, Tomas Aquinas and others during the Renaissance, and now with philosophers like Teilhard DeChardin and Bernard Lonergan.
It's a very christian philosophy, but the Catholic Church managed to save a lot of the Greek manuscripts that were burned during the Dark Ages, and the Greeks got it from some other Ancients.
The study of consciousness is useful, cause if you disagree with me, you have to explain how you came to your conclusions and we are talking the same language.

Yeah, but getting back to tequila...

Lately, I've returned to Patron Silver. I love Herradurra and its complex flavors, but it's been the ultra-clean taste of Patron that whets Sensei's whistle lately.

And another thing: I don't take my Corona with lime, I just don't see putting fruit in beer, or in Herradurra for that matter, but when it's Patron (with the aforementioned ultra-clean taste) that little wedge of lime fits perfectly.

So there.

attempting to reach and maintain catharsis:

A release of emotional tension, as after an overwhelming experience, that restores or refreshes the spirit.

another option is withdrawal and deflection of interpersonal influences

Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! AT LAST! Someone who understands the wonders of tequila!

Now, lots of folks will tell you to drink the good stuff straight, and ya' know what? They're absolutely correct. Save the Sauza for the margaritas. Herradurra, Patron, whatever... If it's good, take it 'neat' as the limeys say.

Then it's time to go dancin'. See, what I like before hittin' the floor is one good stiff shot of the good stuff, followed by a margarita. This, above all other refreshments, get my feets a-movin' to the oontz, oontz oontz!

Discuss.

someone asked George Bernard Shaw, in his 90's, what the secret of happiness is, and he said "Find out what it is you like to do, and do as much of it as you can."

Some, however, believe that a practitioner of Vajrayana expresses a concern of living forever to help all living things. In other words, they would forego Buddha-hood to be a bodhisattva.

Before badgering others perhaps you might want to clean up your sigline....it's kinda strange to be launching attacks with a proven lie staring people in the face...it kinda wipes out the credibility factor a bit.
