Hello everyone,
About 3 days ago I was surfing the net and checking out oddities when I came across the burning man website. I was floored that this even existed! The community! The test of human endurance! The festivities! The Art! I’ve fallen in love with everything burning man. As of right now I diligently plan to attend Burning man 2007 due to college and previous plan trips. This will give me plenty of time to prepare once. I’ve gone I’m sure I will return every year after that. Looking forward to seeing you all on the playa, and to everyone a good burn.

Hey all.

I'm Squirrel from Pasadena, CA. currently living in Santa Cruz, CA.

BM virgin here. I've been to a few BM oriented gatherings such as the SF decom. Sadly, I missed the '05 burn, but I'll definitely be there for '06!

Bye!

I'm Jon, I'm aged seventeen going on eighteen, sixty or fourteen, whichever way you wish to look at it..

I hail from a small island a long way away from your computer called england, you might have heard of it...

I had vaguely heard of burning man a while ago, but I stumbled upon a lot more information recently, and it seems to fit in very nicely indeed with my plan for a gap year road trip across America I'm undergoing next year... the lady I'm travelling with is also in favour of going to BM. it could be either in '06 or '07, but I've already got a couple art projects and stuff jumping to mind, but I think I'll ask questions about that elsewhere.. 8)

very enthusiastic about the event from what I've seen and heard so far..

I need help storing an art car for the year. My friend got rid of his warehouse so I'm on my own. It's a permenantly modified toyota corolla that I turned into a dreamcatcher for this year. Maybe someone has room?! There's a chance I can't go this year so they can take it up if they want. Big fun! We really loved having it this year. We're in LA.

Thanks!

Is this the right place to post this?

Read the official site, follow the topics here, and be ready for the time of your life. Also check on (or post) to the "regionals" board and find some of the other bean town burners out here. You might be able to do a x-country road trip, fly to Reno, do a Green Tortise Bus trip... lots of avenues.

Whatever you do, just do it!!! Remember, you're only a virgin once. >>giggles<<

Hey kids. I'm Ian, and 2006 will be my first burn.
I've been checking the main site, but not much has been published about '06 yet. So I found this board and, well, here I am.

I don't have a theme camp in mind, but am interested to see what there is to do. Lots of questions.
Where should I camp if I like lots of traffic?
Where can I go to catch some quiet?
Will there be dancing? Much much dancing?
Will the guy with the tesla coil be there? I want to play with the 'lectricity.
What can I do? Should I just go there and see?
Are the planners planning on changing the layout or placement compared to the '05 map?
Will one bike be enough? Yes, but a second, impractical bike to 'decorate' might be nice.

anyway, hi. Its me.

Hello!
My name's Jenny and 2006 will be my first Burn. I've been wanting to go for many years, but haven't been in a position to do so until now.
I came onto eplaya to get a sense of what to expect, what to plan for and hopefully to connect with some people so that I have some people to say hey to when I get there. I am really excited for the adventure and I'm ready for the intensity that I know the experience will bring.
So hi!

Hey there, the name is Bram van Overbeeke. I'm a happy-go-lucky Dutch guy and I want to get out there come August. I enjoy some firetwirling, firebreathing and generaly anything social (drinking, singing, dancing and talking are good when combined ).

Hope to see you there! 8)

I was here before though but I can't seem to find myself...

2001 Jan - a cute boy girl started to date told girl about burningman
2001 Feb - girl met ranger disko online while trying to find out info about it
2001 Apr - girl let cute boy know that wether or not they were still dating, girl was going to the burn regardless
2001 Aug - girl boy went to the burn, girl in love with boy but too afraid to tell boy, had the 'life changing' experience that girl originally thought was bunk
2001 Sep - parents happy girl has crawled out from heavy rock
2002 Aug - girl boy go again, this time boy loves girl back, girl just lost job, no idea where girl is going after
2002 Sep - girl boy come back glowing brighter than before, girl moves to boy's city
2003 Aug - too broke, girl finally has job interview at dream job instead
2004 Aug - dream job burner friendly, of course girl can go! girl takes little brother who disappears for the week, and newbie who had never worn sandals before, girl is camp mom, boy is desert ranger
2004 Sep - brother lifts rock, parent's wish they can come too
2005 Aug - another missed burn, due to boy girl wedding planning/chaos/brokedness
2005 Sep - boy girl happily married
2005 Dec - disko moves to china, deeply missed
2005 Dec - boy finds job
2006 Jan - boy girl start planning for second wedding/4th burn with hopes of disko reunion and better shade structure plan

I put this in the wrong board earlier, sorry :?

Hello, My name is shelly and this will be my first year attending Burning Man. I just moved to the West Coast. I grew up in Maryland and have been going to small festivals on the East Coast for some years. This will be my first festival where I do not know anyone and I will be making the adventure alone. I was reading up about the camps and I was wondering if there was one you recommend for lone travelers. I live in California near Sequioa Park. If any one needs a ride I also will have some room. I am into sewing, crocheting, painting some, and my faboulous dog named Cloe. I am looking forward to this summer....[/b]
