My mistake....I meant to save 25 clams per month, and to then sell each clam for two bucks. They'd need to be BIG clams, of exceptional quality.

Hi, Tor! Image
My roots go back to Norge, BTW...

Early-bird plans. I had a hundred dollars tucked away towards my Burn ticket, but then I saw a chocolate fountain in a catalog today. Guess what the tag on that was? Hundred dollars... Image

So I'm in the midst of a priorities-setting. I keep reminding myself, "Get the ticket first, then you have six months to get everything else together!" Problem is, I want to get a used horse trailer to haul it all to the Playa in, too...

I did see a nice cast iron, freestanding dutch oven that has three parts, depending on where you put the coals you can grill, bake, stew, or use it as a space-heater. Not too bad a price either, $30. Wonder how popular I'd be if I showed up at Lamplighters with a chocolate fountain and baking equipment/experience? Scratch that...I'd have the whole camp and the camps bracketing luvvin' on me... furry legs

Post by CagedKitty » Tue Nov 08, 2005 10:35 pm

Ok, I'll tell you the secret recipe for furry leggins that my burnierfriend gave me. Two tube scarves, one up each leg, tied with a belt at the top! Be carefull though, a lot of people will try to pet you. If you haven't seen tube scarves yet, they'll be at drug stores and craft fairs near you this winter.

My dome. I've saved a little over half of the 300$ needed for buying the steel. I believe (*hope*) I sold my old car last night and I should be collecting the cash for it today. If so, I'll go buy all my dome supplies this weekend!

Other then that I'm planning on making an EL Wire sign for our camp.

what haven't i finished?....

EVERYTHING.

Hah, nah... i have $600 saved up for next year's burn. I missed '05 due to money so... it shall NOT happen again!

I have so many ideas for '06 already. '04 was my first burn... (BTW, Fire Wire, I camped with the Hostel too... you wouldn't happen to be one of the guys from Norway who finished the rubics cube in like 10.6 seconds huh???) This burn me and my partner may be driving so that opens a lot of posibilities for art, etc... we're thinking about a roaming bar. We can put the $400 bar we have at home to good use and maybe finish up our absinthe out there. (where better than the playa?) I'm lookinng at liquid latex too... want to do some nude gore type stuff. :D oh... and if anyone remotely near new orleans is looking for someone to ride/caravan with PLEASE email me or something... i want to make some burner friends here, but they seem to be nonexistant. And no one refer me to the regionals... the new orleans contact has been... dead... or something for quite some time.

I had heard about a group of DPW and/or other burners working on a rebuild of the Buddhist temple down there...Also, do you know my friend Jimmy Descant? (He WAS a local, now temporarily relocated to Alabama, I believe...makes wonderful spaceships and abstracts from vintage junk.)

heard of him i have not.... actually, the other day i accidentally ran across the new orleans burner tribe on tribe.net with anthony de cognito. when i went to BM in '04 people actually spoke of him (Anthony) when we told them we were from NO, but i had no clue who he was. way too many of the people in that tribe are from other areas though. i was dissappointed to see the low number of actual NO residents. but all is cool. i did see a few people from here talking about a local coffee shop that i frequent so all hope is not lost to find other local burners. the only thing that sucks is i get so lost and confused looking through tribe.net.... oh well. and thanks. :)

I thought last year's temple was built by David Best's former volunteers and not David himself?

It was, and I thought it was really, really stunning...

Esp. with Nipples there. Also memorialized my folks & folks-in-law finally. Funny, but it somehow seemed... well... *right*. You know what I mean?

There was something about this one... hard to explain, but it was one I will remember for the rest of my days... It was one I still cry over.
