Want Liquid Light & Psy Visuals for your Camp, Party, Ar

Post by phoenix from the playa » Thu Dec 22, 2005 11:59 pm

I'd love to work with Theme Camps, Art Installations, Party Domes, and anyone else in BRC 2006 where I could project Liquid Light & psychedelic visuals behind live music and/or DJ's.

I've a video projector and equipment. To keep equip functional, it's best to project from a large RV or projection booth constructed on the Playa for just that purpose.

Take a peak @ http://www.rainbowpuddle.com

I'm also very open to providing visuals for any theme camps or art projects doing funraising parties. I enjoy co-conspirators and can work alone.

Thanks for the apprerciations from those of you who have seen my art @ Otter and other places the past few years.

Namaste, Rainbow Puddle

(I've no friggin idea why you are not seeing a .jpg here, perhaps it will show up. It's coded! - Don't get it!" Please cut & paste to your broswer.

Hey PhishPhunk, hate to discourage you & I prolly won't but you may want to think about participating in another way your first year out!

Like, have you thought about the equipment you'll need on the Playa to do your thing? Do you believe it will properly function for your gigs the following weeks? Do not underestimate Playa Dust Vrs Electronics. Dust wins EVERY time!

I have no idea how to hook you up with a stage & power. Look around here. Vol your group @ Center Camp Cafe where the entertainment & power (& coffee) are 27/4 or whatever and there's lots of time slots to fill up not to mention hordes to entertain. Ya all play nakid?

Post some of your music someplace so potential camps might be able to listen to what you do.

Get together w/ experienced Burners from your communities and see what you can do to assist them w/ their project and how your music might fit into that.

And leave all your good instruments at home!

Thanks for asking, hope this helps. cheers, Phoenix

Phoenix! I should have looked at other posts more closely before posting my own: http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=12028
I can picture the projector booth and the sound booth being one and the same... What do you think?

phishphunk, you won't believe the amount of dust that will end up in your gear (and everything else), but if you're willing to make the effort to keep things clean and functional and then do a dismanteling and cleaning of everything when you return to the mess "normal" people call civilizations... well, then, I don't think we should discourage you!
Do you have any sound samples online? Maybe you'd be suitable for this imaginary stage.... :)

Love, Dave

Dust is a potential nemesis, but i think i could keep most of my stuff from getting to dusty. that may be naive, but the equipment will only be exposed during my performance, which could be for several hours. during that time i hope to expect a cloud of dust from all the happy feet skippin to the beat. as far as online music, i am working on getting some tunes up on my website (in progress) and in the meantime i think i can email a live recording as an attachment. it is a cover of keller williams, who is one of my favorite musicians and my mentor in my new project. thanks for the resposes and info...and keep in touch.

love and light
David

Adding To The Mix

Post by phoenix from the playa » Fri Jan 06, 2006 11:30 pm

As I am still very undecided where & with whom I'll be camping, it is entirely conceivable to camp where my visuals would be enjoyed for several nights. I am rather certain I don't want to be out in the Sound Zonz. But who knows?

Wherever I camp, I can easily project from my inside my RV.

Other equip I'll have on The Playa in addition to one video projector:
Overhead Projectors for Liquid Light Splashing;
graphics mixer, dvd players & vhs;
Sceening material;

I'll also have four parcams and about 500' of multi colored rope light & controllers & lotsa twinkies.

And, the RV has onboard 4,000 watt & I'll also have a 3,000 Honda.
