Nobody is required to ride critical tits, stop whining NOW!!

Post by Ken Wheels » Wed Jan 11, 2006 11:52 am

Read the ticket- it clearly states that you might be photographed-DRESS accordingly, do not however go riding around the desert topless in front of 40,000 people and then bitch about being photographed. Critical tits is amusing but once you've seen every shape and size available it becomes passe. Women that have a problem with nudity should wear clothes or simply stay away from this event. Enuff said!!!!!!
Feel free to bitch all you want about this post, I simply dont give a hoot!

Oh, and fuck you.

Dear Ken:
The above poster (Edit: not Sensei, oops) has a tendency to spout off without checking facts...something confirmed by his use of a factually incorrect and blatantly misleading sigline. I might suggest that you become familiar with the 3 smilies to your left, in particular the middle one. It's become known as the Isotopia filter, it works great for blocking stray ramblings from disgruntled people with large chips on their shoulder or serious angst issues.

Back on topic I read your post and part of me agrees with you because on the 4 tickets I have over here I see the language you mentioned. But it's not as simple as following what's on the ticket, there's a lot more to this subject and I'm curious if you've skimmed the various CT related threads or the ones covering photography and / or the media at BM? They might offer you a better understanding of the core argument...and let you participate in a way that doesn't come across as it's my way or the highway...an attitude which around here will shut off the very minds you're trying to reach with your message.

Being dismissive like that is usually not appreciated from someone being here a couple of months with a total of five posts.

Reguardless of if I agree with Ken or not, your statement is not welcome.

Of all places, this is not the place where seniority matters. I don't care if he's been here 10 years or 10 minutes. If you want to deate his actual statement, fine. If you want to pick at him for for not being an "old timer" or for being a "noob", take it elsewhere.

And quite frankly I see his lack of tons of posts as a sign that he isn't some dolt posting bile everywhere, but instead is only posting when there is really something worth saying.

Seniority does have it's place here, some of us who've been around see patterns and things others don't and we use that experience to try and keep the riff raff down. It's part of being in a community and something we can offer to help keep the board active and a good place for people to spend time learning about the event.

In the case of potentially inflammatory posters with low post counts some of the eplaya's worst characters, the rogue's gallery of sorts is filled with people who starting making controversial statements right away. It might piss you off to see someone challenge his attitude, that somebody maybe checking him out to make sure we're not getting another troll on here. That's all it is, there's no intent to play the old hat card or the kiss my ass I've been here longer than you therefore your opinion sucks card either.

I know you directed that post to SB...but since I spoke up feel free to take potshots at me if you want. Fire away.

Never said it was.

It's more a note of concern on being immediately dismissive on a topic that is historically a heated debate. Right or wrong, if you are new that does not come off well to most people here and you can see the reaction plainly for yourself. If you want to try to convince people here differently... well good luck, I stopped trying to get people here to be more open to newbs for a long time to no avail.

So I guess you can consider an edit "Being dismissive like that is usually not appreciated by most members here, from someone being here a couple of months with a total of five posts."

*Chuckle* No, no potshots from here. :)

Again, my post has nothing to do with the actual content or "style" of Ken's post (quite frankly I think he could of posted in a far more friendly manner. ;) )

I simply was taking issue with SB reasons for shooting down Ken. It had nothing to do with the topic or manner of Ken's post, but only with the fact that Ken had only been here "a couple of months" and "with a total of five posts."

I still don't feel "seniority" should be a club that is swung about. Though I do agree with you that the "older" folk here should help and guide the new people. :)

And the experiment in online community continues...
Sometimes it falters. Other times it works flawlessly.

It might not be the most diplomatic way to go about housekeeping but it works. For all we know we could be heading off the next WSPR or Stop BM situation....it's worth saying something to prevent it if possible.

Amazing how a single post from an ePlaya newbie can generate so much emotion. Pretty incredible! Not the first time, either...

Sorry but I just want to shit myself any time someone thinks they are superior. I mean litterally push my pink starfish to the limit.

Why not ignore the OP. Or we could just use his post as an excuse to say stupid shit about each other.

[quote="Cabanasprings"]But it is okay when coming from someoe with "Seniority." Bullshit. Oh wait-Spect has seniority too.

oh christ.

Seriously, what did you not agree with my followup? I thought... no, I tried to make it clear that was not really about seniority but concern that kind of post starts arguments. I am guessing its getting overlooked, or confused, or... what?

You think somehow I believe myself to be superior?

Staying off topic, I wanted to point out that a lot of people have been around the site for years but have limited computer access and maybe nothing to say, so few posts.

Of course you are. Sustaining a lie is a damn hard thing to pull off - especially when there are others around to remind you of blatant inconsistencies re. your fictional malady.

Ain't no lies going on Ray. Inconsistencies of a mind that was reeling from chemo and drug interactions, you betcha. But the core truth can't be changed no matter how much you keep trying to dig things up year after year. It just pisses you off to see that the core facts haven't changed.

Your attacks are falling apart so here you come looking for old arrowheads and scraps so you can cobble up something to try and toss at me in hopes you can bring me down and take me out....I'm sorry but that's not gonna happen. I have offered to explain things that happened to you in depth but those offers were rebuffed. So at this point I am no longer going to oblige you with the attention you so desperately crave and the brownie points you want at my expense. I'm done with you. And anything negative that you say from this point forward will make you look like the ass, not me.

Look at the poster's comment, look how eveyone is reacting. Thats my point and the danger I was trying to point out. But hey, not only does everyone seem to overlook that but its starting to just seem like an excuse for people to vent and act out on whatever personal grudges they may have.
