Sorry, but with your history, if you start to get into it with someone its unreasonable to expect that many people are going to be sympathetic with you.

If you want to convince people you can move beyond all that, you really want to avoid conflicts - not get into it and then 'laugh at them' or 'laugh it off.'

I get the feeling you are not really listening to me, but I am more than willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. But this will also be the last time I mention these things to you.

There is not many more chances people can give ya my man, I really hope it does not come down to that.

I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop as our resident drag queen hasn't made her appearance today. DVD, Iso seems to hate me the worst but you would surely make his top ten list. I'm wondering what her reax is gonna be when she sees all of your posts? You know it's coming, the behavior is so predictable.... I hope you're ready.

Dude,

I laugh at those that are silly, dumb and stupid and rightfully so.

I'm not going to change because there are those that are funny to me.

I am a fun person. The folks you speak of know nothing of me and yet they decide to attack not just me but other newbies.

As far as I'm concerned they are a joke and should stay on whatever board/community they are currently at and let eplaya thrive.

They do not welcome people here or anywhere.

I'm beyond any of that. I have an awesome time no matter what.

Look,

I'm really not interested in people that live in their own little itty bitty narrow boring world.

I'm just here on eplaya to have fun. Now if that means that I will have fun on people that are having a bad time with me or anyone else here on eplaya having a good time then so be it. (was that too complicated?)

But eplaya and especially the new fresh energy that the newbies bring on eplaya is relaxing to me.

I'm not here intentionally bothering anyone. I am here having fun with my fellow eplayans.

If people have a problem with that.....well then BOO HOO.

There are other threads and other places they can go to avoid me let alone choose the ignore button.

it's their choice. but the vibe is nice here this year.

I think I would like to stay here for awhile and enjoy the newbies and other fellow eplayans.
Like I said if whomever has a problem with that......BOO HOOOO.

Maybe they should try getting a life or something.

Oh oh,

You are not going to belive this folks.

I guess that ignore function is more complicated than I thought for some people.

Someone just added me to their contact list instead of the ignore.

Just sort of skimming this over--3 pages int eh last couple of days.

I spend a lot of time over at the other board. There are some sweethearts there and some interesting minds. I have others on semi-permaplonk.

I like this place better but we took a beating in that month long closure last spring. Lots of people left. I still post over there because it's livelier--it's taking a long time to get new people to join and participate. This place ends up something like a shanty town, you don't know when your overlords are going to clean it out for some reason and you have to get the cardboard out and rebuild. THe other board is sorta gated-community and certain threads are like the notes for the black-balling sessions at the country club. Those threads are plonked in my 3playa reality.

And for you newbies, I have to say that if you think this place is cold to newcomers--that place is glacial.

I enjoy my (born-again) newbieness, whatever it means. I guess mostly that everyone I had any connect with before has gone, and I start anew.

It seems silly to me to plonk at all. You never know when someone's gonna show you something you never thought they had. Even if you think they type from a pedestal, or masturbate with their keyboards, or play with everyone's patience, or can't take the stick out of their ass. Everyone's got wisdom. Everyone here, everyone period.

Then again, since coming back, I haven't gotten into it with anyone personally. If you're bored, throw some shit at me, we'll get into it, it'll be grand.

some interesting points have been made about plonking in the beginning of this new eplaya.

In fact, what leads up to that great thread is some fine reading. A thread that can be read from beginning to end funny and gives some insight as to how eplaya came to be the way it is today.

A very very very funny thread IMHO. Also a great virtual photo book of eplayans come and gone. (might I also add that this all happened before the plonker was implemented.)

As someone who has no sence of discretion and will get into passionate scraps over trivial shit I carefully use plonk to keep my sanity and to keep certain kinds of ugliness off the board. I think it is a tool and that like all tools it can be misused and that it has different nessesity to different persons.

That was my biggest reservation, but I neither voice nor act on those opinions because its about what the users of this board want. I knew it would help some, but worry about it being used as an excuse "You dont like it, well just plonk me, its your problem not mine." But its not much of a problem so far.

Ok I feel the need to come out of the bar and off my fence to give my two cents.
Hi I’m Mike and I am a newbie.
And this post is intended for newbies.
My post count means nothing. I just serve drinks. I never look at the count on other people’s profile. You’re all in a big room (e-playa) by reading peoples post your listening to people in the room. If you don’t post people can’t find out who you are. You’re just someone in the room. Like any crowd of people some find the need to push buttons. Some find the need to help. Some find the need to listen. Some just find the need.
Take charge of your attitude. Don’t let someone else choose it for you.
Be brave. Even if you’re not, pretend to be. No one can tell the difference.
Accepted yes I have found people I like to hang with on this board. But it's how you interact with people that determines on how you‘re perceived. And that determines how and who accepts you.

But that’s just me. Can I get any one a drink?

Mozy, i'll take you up on that offer of a drink. Could you make it Frangelico on the rocks or 43 and milk? thanks. BTW, I found a couple of
7500V 7.2 uf capacitors. If you want, I'll pick one up for your Tesla coil.

Hi Davoid

Take that stick out of your ass, you dim-witted, sanctimonious wanker.
That said, I respect your wisdom, as I know you do mine.

Us and them?
obscure pink floyd ref, plus it kinda refers to another post elsewhere.

the year of beyond belief; was i the only one hearing pink floyd all over the place?

anyhoo, the idea when i wrote the post was that we often differentiate between "us" (our 'famliy') and "them". once you differentiate, you might tolerate the other 'family' but you will not think of them as being part of 'your family'. acceptance is more like seeing the other as part of the 'family'.

we might tolerate someone until they leave (and do little to encourage them to stay), or we could accept them as a welcome guest that we hope will stick around. this thread asks about acceptance, which struck me as different than tolerance. you are tolerating my rambling posts to the extent you are reading them. but that doesn't mean you think of me as being in 'your family'. the tone of the responses to my presence, ideas and posts can be greatly affected by this subtle distinction.

sorry about the confusion. i'm kind of simplistic sometimes, in a complicated way, especially when i'm not making sense, which is often.

As long as you don't get so stuffy with it that you decide that emoticons are the mark of the devil--and even keep recognizing that they do serve a perpose we won't exile you to the other board.

DVD- looks like the plonk has indeed been analyzed enough. No desire to pick at that scab. I guess all those names I recognized flew to the other place.
