Is anyone interested in some classical philosophy discussions? Such as:
Who is your favorite philosopher or type of philosophy and how does the ideals of BMan interject with her/him, or it?
How does your philosophy, politics, or religion (PPoR) fit in with BMan or do you hope to convince BMan of your PPoR?
Has the BMan ideals or the event or the people helped out your PPoR, or distracted from it, or perhaps made a new dimension altogether for you?
To me, the BMan event is very encouraging toward the development of PPoR that is of and toward High Creativity and to some extent Individual Thought and Purpose, but it also intertwines Fellowship with Individuality and also some primitive feelings of attachment to fire, the sun, and the earth, and sexuality. Also, I believe some notable philosophers, Voltaire, Descartes, and Socrates, would be impressed with the ideals of BMan, and perhaps have some very profound observations of it in how it can help humans and society in general.
I have many other ideas and thoughts of how overall PPoR can be influenced and enhanced by the event and the ideals of BMan, but I simply wanted to get this started for now. I hope to give some more thoughts later if this topic catches some flames, or at least some intense sparks.

Yeah, we need something to balance out the uber tech geek debate/discussion on alt energy sources and nuclear physics over on the Open Discussion section of the board.

I never been to BM, but the inspiration to check it out comes from a philosophical source.
I had two authors immediately associated with after reading a tons of pro and con articles about the BM and of course checking all the available pictures and videos on the internet.
One of these authors is Terence McKenna, who was titled as etnobotanologist. This is partially true, because his evolution theory has some philosophical consequences too.
The significance of Shamanism and the revival of Shamanism in the beginning of the Millenia connected to Mayan Tzolzkin ( 2012 Solstice) creates an unique current within the modern philosophers.
We are probably witnessing the dawn of one of the most significant consciousness change in the history of the humanity. My impressions is, the Burning Man is one the practical manifestations of this process.
The another author is Jean Baudrillard.
His vision of the surreal America is more relevant than ever.
As the United States steps into the state beyond the state, the citizens of this Hyperstate build their hyperreality.
It's not a sci-fi anymore; it is here and happening.
I could really recommend both authors for mind expanding practice and again, these were my first personal philosophical impressions/references upon the discovery of BM.
