Oracle expansion for 2006-CA tarot readers/diviners/healers?

Post by rattatrat » Tue Sep 06, 2005 2:14 pm

Oracle, a tiny theme camp hosted by Raven and Goliath, had too much success in 2005. We have one Tarot reader (me!) and we had to turn people away due to fatigue. This camp started out as something lighthearted, but fellow burners with deep emotional difficulties came looking for guidance and healing. We are honored to have shared in their intimate lives, and equally honored to (we hope) have rendered some assistance. But we now realize that this camp needs help for next year. Do you read Tarot or possess some skill of healing or divination? Do you work in the mental health field outisde of BM? We are looking for compassionate, non-judgemental, insightful individuals who are willing to share in Oracle in 2006. The idea would be to have limited, assigned "shift" times so that each reader would be responsible for a short time each day. This way, one person wouldn't have to do readings for hours and hours on end. We can take one or two persons who need infrastructure support (we have 3/4 of a 10'x20' shade tent for readings, with chairs and tables) but we would love to meet up with someone interested who also possesses shade structures, etc. to join in with us to plan for next year. If you live in northern California, so much the better! Please email if you are interested or would like to know more. We give our apologies in advance--if you smoke tobacco, I am very hypersensitive to the smoke & can't be around it without severe migraines. Moderate use of other drugs and alcohol fine by us.....Blessings to all!

Howdy. My name is the Rev. Terry Simon Scott and I have been a reader and teacher of the Tarot for 38 years. This year was my first burning man and I had a life changing experience.
Please contact me. I live in Mendocino County and would be happy to help you do readings next year. I would like to do some Tarot workshops as well.
I also have a background in Mental Health work.
Blessings
Rev. T.

this sounds like something I wanted to focus my next burn on as well. there are a couple of Calgary burners I was going to be doing this with, but I would love to help out with you as well. I work with massage for healing. Am very interested in making this burn a giving one. [email protected]

Last year I did impromtu tarot readings and some massage in center camp for weary burners. I would also like to incorporate some aromatherapy next year. So, I would love to be involved with a camp offering readings/healings/transcendental beauty. Please let me know if I can be of assistance!

Me too, me too..! I have some ability with Tarot and with the alchemy of aromatherapy. I don't know if you're looking for very experienced people.. I wouldn't consider myself that, just a student of these arts with some intuition and perceptive abilities. I read every now and then for friends and family, and myself. My readings, and the reactions of those I read for tell me that I have an ability. I am also able to communicate the information sensitively so that it is clear and easy for the listener to receive. I have been in the counselling field professionally for five years now, mainly a youth and family counsellor. I've been planning to give readings at the burn this year. It is extremely fatiguing work, and it would be great to collaborate with others. I don't do drugs.. but occasionally enjoy a glass of wine or a caesar. I have a mild brain injury that complicates things for me sometimes but I believe this might actually lend me some interesting perceptual advantages too in some ways. Can I ask, how long a reading would be expected or appropriate? I might poop out after a particularly lengthy or intense one or two, depending on it's a "good day" or "bad day" for me. Would I still be able to contribute? It would be great to meet you all, anyway. I had wanted to attend a couple of the events in '05, but missed them, sadly.

i would love to be a part of your camp this year! in fact - i was planning on doing readings on my own this year, but was a bit skeptical about how well that would work out as a solo mission - dealing with exhaustion, et al. i just got a new deck this april - the deck my sprit has been searching out for the past 10 years! all the better to have a context to participate in where we can mutually support each other. yes! outside of burning man, i practice reiki, use flower essences, and have a bit of experience in transpersonal psychology... and i live in san francisco... i'd love to be an active part of supporting, and pulling together the camp in the upcoming months before the brun as well. please let mw kno how i can help...

The Ouija Board Project 2006

Post by DaBomb » Thu Jun 08, 2006 12:16 am

Hey folks, I'm just jumping on this thread to say "hello" and introduce myself .

I'm involved with the Ouija Board Project 2006 and I think it's pretty relevant to this thread.

We've received from feedback from members of the community (drink!) that are uncomfortable with the idea of a giant ouija board on the playa. So, we were going to have an opening blessing ceremony and I just want to invite you all to attend and to participate. I'll let you know when it will be as soon as I know where our placement.

You have 3 more...

Post by alexamonkey » Sun Jun 18, 2006 6:21 pm

Hi,

I have only a minute, but myself, my husband, & our good friend are all in.... the two of them are both Bodyworkers- My husband has developed his own technique- an absolute MIRACLE. ON MY SOUL !

I am harder to explain... strong psi & empathic abilities...a hodgepodge of "psychic" crap,- & can 'hone'- or 'sense' beings I've never met from great distances- (a handy 'therapist' tool- I quickly 'know' people that others speak to me about- Usually can 'see' them,...etc. Anyway, boring, boring, boring...)

Anyway, I have always been a 'drafted' therapist, for friends and strangers alike...

However,
I believe the greatest 'healing' gift I can give is in 'art therapy'... I am an artist- mostly pen/ink, freehand-graphic-type abstract designs, & 'personalized healing mandalas'- I turn my 'mental feedings' from a particular person into a mandala (meaning radial) design specifically focused for individual healing. (I can also offer people an 'explanation' of how & why looking at these shapes can be healing in many ways- I can offer the western-scientific logic, the philosophical 'Gestalt' theories on visual perception, & of course, the fluid, eastern construct on 'healing mandala power'-
Would love to participate!

oh, & My husband & I also do reiki

I'd love to help, my entire theme camp is all about this, that's why we're called Divination Nation.

If you'd like to combine forces, we have a chilldome already planned which can be utilized for readers.

My art installation is Divination Station. An interactive interface which combines this year's theme, technology and a one card tarot reading.

I did readings for Synapse Village last year, I agree it takes it out of you.
I cannot guarantee my time as a reader, since I'm running both a theme camp of over 50 people, an art installation and I'm a volunteer with both DPW and the Cafe. I don't know if I'll even have enough time to say hello to myself each day! But I can offer space within our camp to you all to work out of.

Much Love,
Moon
