First of all, you may not like it but in the past people just dont react to deleting topics for whatever reasons too well.
Second, you are mistaken if you think moderators have permissions to delete whatever they want, wherever they want. You can PM Emily, the admin with the request - and I have already noted her on it.
If you dont agree that a moderator cannot do this, email Spanky who sets the permissions. I would if I could.

I'm a moderator as well. A couple of things here:
1. I can't erase that message. I only have rights (access) to erase messages in certain areas, and that's not one of them. I'd love to have rights across the board, I've requested that, and I haven't heard back yet.
2. While I find the post offensive, I'm not sure that it specifically violates the TOS. I would probably delete it however, just because that appears to be the consensus and it's somewhat borderline for me.
3. Sometimes people think that deleting everything that is objectionable is the best way to deal with these issues. I find that responding to it approriately (as most people in that thread have) is a much better option.

Lazarus, cool down and read the last two posts. They explained WHY they can't do anything...they have NOT (unfortunately) been empowered with that authority. And if you re-read it you will see that the request is pending...they're trying. What else do you want them to do, they've hit the proverbial brick wall on this and can't go any farther.

Thank you for over 7 years of eplaya memories. I have asked Emily Sparkle to delete my account and I am gone. Goodbye and Goodluck to all of you! I will miss you!

1. I understand that you can't delete the post, but is it possible to ban the user?Chai Guy wrote:I'm a moderator as well. A couple of things here:

2. As I posted in the topic itself, I very strongly believe he has violated the TOS in the portion that I bolded.
If you or SB don't have the access to do something about this guy, please contact the person(s) that can. Thanks you.

I've always seen it as a good option for board managing to make a couple hidden and forbidden forums. One you could call the Trashcan. You move all your topics you want to delete to that forum and they can be looked through on a later date.
No more:
Mod1: "We should ban him, he had at least half a dozen topics where he made racist remarks!"
Mod2: "Fair enough, prove it."
Mod1: "Oh, but we deleted the topics...."
Believe me, it works wonders for board managing

Interesting idea. ePlaya feedback is kept clear of off-topic and personal threads for a similar reason. Its hard to keep on top of things when cluttered with stuff like some of the other main areas that are in excess of twenty pages of topics. Its also in the same spirit of the case studies topic for everyone to have a right to be heard on example areas of board management, not just the most agressive or vocal.Atar wrote:I've always seen it as a good option for board managing to make a couple hidden and forbidden forums. Spect is an un-marked moderator.
Eplaya has found it necessary to place certain undercover operatives into
service with the indiginous population for aiding in certain
covert/black ops as are not described in the TOS.
Eplaya has brought Intelligence to a whole new level...
...But don`t be afraid...he is trying to protect you from internet terrorism.
National Security concerns, you know.
