Hey Zoom,
There are no regulations on camo nets. People have used them with mixed results as the quality varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. If you can get a "kit" that includes the original military spreader bars, then do so, as those seem to work the best, since that was the original design/purpose.
Also, please don't post in all caps, it comes across as shouting. Thanks.

I got some from the Gulf War. A guy in Sacramento bought 500 of 'em Army surplus, and I got three, in '97 I believeZoom wrote:yeah, i do have one from the military, we had extras when we came back from desert storm.,,,.
Anyway, decided I needed more and went back to him. He had no more as the FBI picked up what he had left and wanted to know the names of everyone who bought them.
Evidently, there are very fine metal threads running through the fabric, the point of which is to dissapate heat. Put one over a tank that's been running in the desert, it it becomes invisible to infared cameras from high above.
Well, now,,,, what major California industry would be interested in shielding their product from infared search????

Weight would be the only problem. The more you can bring, the better, as you MAY want to put two layers on the top. For the three sides of shade you'll need (that morning sun can be a killer, and the late afternoon sun can be even worse) you can bring lighter materials, and clip or tie them onto the camo. Some incredible resources have been listed in this thread.Zoom wrote:...i do not know if they will let me take it on the airplane in a duffle bag. any ideas...
I didn't see mention of the Swedish Snow Blind "camo" material, which is basically Tyvek with lots of holes cut in it. VERY light, good for sides and great to cover top camo without the weight and hassle of putting camo on top of camo.
There is a link here in eplaya that covers this item:

However, I just called www.MajorSurplusNSurvival.com (where I got mine) because I couldn't find it listed on their web site.... Alas, the operator told me Burners bought every piece, and since it's surplus, they don't have any.
After doing a google on "Snow Camouflage" or "Snow Camo" there seems to be the usual liars in the results (Save on Snow Camo at ebay!), with the only real seller of the stuff (that I could find) in New Zealand!
Anyone have another source?
Doc, i should not have a problem checking it in. i would love to bring it. the last time and the first time was in my bed room to give my girlfriend a feel of burning man. since she was not able to go to 2005. i thank you for all the inputs. it great to have people like you in this deranged world. love to all
