TOME : important that we hear from many of their worshippers

Post by the fire elf » Tue Feb 07, 2006 8:38 pm

ie.

"What does a Freysgodhi do? Well, since no job description has come down to us, each of us is reconstructing his/her own godhordh (priesthood or priestesshood, there are now and were in the past Freysgydhias as well) as we go along. I try to embody my understanding of Frey as much as possible. Also, Frey gets more of my time than the Others, although I have good working relationships with several of our Gods and Goddesses and expect to meet and work with others as time goes on. Also, my relationship with Frey serves as a sort of compass in my practice of Heathenism. Obviously, the other Vanir Deities (Njordhr, Freya, and Nerthus, although some include others) are especially near and dear to me. I'm not surprised that being a Freysgodhi, the practice of seidhr seemed very natural when I started learning it and that it has continued to be an important part of my life. "

there once was a boy who was different...

he even thought to himself: "my, how different i am."

he did different things...went different places...talked with different people...

when he saw unhappy people all doing the same things and getting the same results, he thought: "this difference of mine is a wonderful thing...i wonder how far it goes..."

and so he went...further into difference than he imagined anyone had gone before...

the further he went, the greater difference he saw in himself...

by now he had gone soo far that he began to wonder..."surely i am made of the same stuff as everyone i have left...why are they not being different?...perhaps they don't know how..."

redoubling his efforts, he now began to be different in front of people...sure that they would be happy to see...

sometimes they were...sometimes they weren't...it was always a different response...

he took this as a good sign...

It fascinates me that so many people in the world are looking for answers outside of themselves.

p.s. Being different is nothing to be proud of. Doing different is, though.

What you do is who you are. What you create is who you are. What you say or think is nothing more than a sketch in sand on a beach at low tide.
It's what you make it.

quoth the raven,

"nevermore"

that's what poe said and thought. worthless indeed. though it could be said that he was because he chose to share.

anyhoo, i am alarmed to learn that i have nothing more to offer than sketches on sand at low tide.

or maybe that's my shadow dancing across the shore...

Oh but you do have more at offer. Spinning fire is doing and giving and creating all at once. Even being a good campmate is doing, giving and creating. I was referring to when people only think and talk and believe that they are creative or purposeful when in fact they are neither until they actually do or create something.
