Presenting "Burncast"

Post by DaBomb » Tue Feb 14, 2006 11:31 am

Burncast is now available online. What's a "burncast"? Well, it's the name of a podcast program that's all about Burning Man!

Rising like a phoenix from the ashes of SaveBRC.org <http://www.savebrc.org> comes Burncast, produced by participants for participants about the art, culture, and community (drink!) surrounding Burning Man.

In the aftermath of our mission to educate people about the media at Burning Man, members of the Black Rock City Community Collective felt that they could a better job of reporting on the event. So they did.

We begin by talking to the people behind the curtain. This is a first in a series of interviews with members of the Burning Man organization.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Burncast #1 - Interview with Andie Grace
http://nospectators.com/index.php?page=burncast

In our premiere burncast, we talk to Andie Grace aka "ActionGrl", the
Director of Communications for Burning Man. She'll explain the policies and procedures in place for media participation at Burning Man, discuss the effects of media presence within the community, as well as participant's rights to privacy and the concept of "media free zones". She'll also explain the background and development of the 10 principles with emphasis on principle #3 "Decommodification."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Burncast is brought to you by members of Black Rock City Community Collective and is completely underwritten by participants like you. We want to give you a voice, we want to hear your story, and we invite you to share your experience. We hope you enjoy this first show. Also we'd love to hear what you think, as well as your ideas for future episodes.

It's great that you're making available interviews with some of the key personalities behind Burning Man. If you're accepting input on who to interview next, I'd like to hear more from Michael Michael on the future of Burning Man.

By the way, since my schedule has opened up, I've now added a proper subscription link. If you have iTunes properly installed, you can just click Subscribe, and iTunes will automatically add the subscription to its Podcast section, and you will automatically see new episodes as they are uploaded in the future. You can also use this link to subscribe in an RSS reader that supports enclosures. Enjoy!
