 [i]Hello everyone!
I'm thrilled to say I am finally coming to Burning Man for my very first time!
I hope to volunteer for the Black Rock Gazette or where ever I could use my writing skills, as well as meet wonderful hearts that are on fire like mine.
Looking forward especially to getting out of LosAngeles, and August can't come soon enough!
PLEASE email me, I would love to get to know folks as I know NO ONE who is going to be at Burning Man, well that's not true, my "brother" is going, but it is his Honeymoon and they are sorta going to be in a dif zone I imagine experiencing BM together :) !
I am pouring over the BM web sites as well, I hope to meet some folks in the LA area that might want to go in on an RV together? Are there better ideas? I'm such a virgin with this stuff.... all suggestions are welcome.
My day gig is working for corporate housing Co.
But I am working furiously in ALL my spare time to making the transition into my field (writing for television).
Thanks!
Namaste and every other blessing,
Elizabeth Reynolds

You may want to consider going to a regional or two to get to know some folks. There's one in May, Singularity (used to be Dark Skies). It is now the Las Vegas/ LA regional burn and is held on Roach Lake (dry lake bed, similar to the playa) just outside of Primm NV, just over the state line up I-15. You'd meet a lot of local burners, and quite a few of us from Utah go to that one.
You could do car camping with a small tent for those four days; it is hot but not impossibly so in the spring.
Check the regionals for LA events, I know there's tons of them. Get in touch with the LA regional contacts, that's listed on the main site.
Rvs are expensive and a lot of work to clean, but tenting it can be tough too, especially if you don't have equipment to begin with. Search this forum and the survival guide and the recommended reading for lots of info and opinions, I personally am a tent and carport camper, but there's lots of folks who prefer the RV route.
Welcome!
