Re: IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - DO NOT TOUCH DIAL...

a spokesperson for the Apokiliptika Minister of State wrote:We interrupt this show for an important announcement from:

etc. etc. blah, doom, annhiliation, etc.
I understand this has something to do with official Apokiliiptka Passports for Kampmembers...

[quote]One person's "bad art" is another person's masterpiece.

Perhaps a disclaimer about protecting art on the playa might be in order? Nobody wants to be associated with anyone that might be perceived as advocating the destruction of playa art they find questionable....

(I love the poster and understand the intent....but I want to make sure the anti-sabotage efforts for on-playa art are not ignored.)
</soapbox>

You've absolutely missed the point. We are dead serious. This is not a game. Every individual is expected to make their own decision about what is bad art and act accordingly.

We are expecting squadrons of heavy bombers over Black Rock City daily.

You are doomed.

Interesting! Sock puppet theater! The Kernul's awesome and diabolical creativity truly amazes me. What will he think of next?

Seriously, I'm impressed. Maybe someday my art will might come close to the great work I see here.

Radio Silly

Post by Elliot » Sat Feb 25, 2006 10:36 am

Announcer: And now... Radio Silly brings you Episode Three of Secret Double Agent, starring Silly Fellow as Our Hero.

Jingle singers:
Silly Whimsy, Silly Whimsy
Whimsical Silliness
wins the day
(sound fx: random fartulence)

Announcer: Last time, Our Hero came oh-soooo close to bringing his beloved Kernul a grand prize of, uh... priceless spy-telligence from the dastardly Herring Fleet. (Ever seen a dastard? Ugly little weasel-like bottomfeeding subspecies of herring.) Today, Our Hero (still) puts his radioactive qualities, which he acquired aboard the Kursk, to good use in the field of... yep, radio. Indeed, Our Hero has taken a job as a radio microwave transmitter installer at Kamp Apokiliptika. Since he emits rather a lot of energy himself, Our Hero can test circuitry without applying any outside power -- a great timesaver. Here he is with his partner, Sigurd, a former commercial fisherman, who is standing in the middle of a large parabolic dish, working on the gadget in the focal point (the horn, for you techies).

Sigurd: Hey, Our Hero, why is my flashlight shining when the switch is off?

Our Hero (standing near the power input thingie for the transmitter): Achooooo! (sneezes). Sorry.

Sigurd: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......... (burns to a small pile of dust from the sudden burst of microwave energy.)

The Kernul: By jove, Our Hero, you have saved Kamp Apokiliptika from certain... uh... un-doom. We just found out that fellow was a Herring Hugger operative, and he was about to turn our antenna around and microwave us all. Thank Me you got him first! You deserve a great reward.

Our Hero: Oh, shucks, Your Majestic Kernulness, it was nuttin’.

The Kernul: It was not? Very well -- I certainly would not doubt the word of my trusted technician. Get back to work then, dag-nabbit!

Announcer: And so it ends for now. Even in his greatest triumph, Our Hero... ... but wait... (numerous footsteps approaching rapidly -- growing to a crowd -- a veritable stampede...) ...wait... here comes... it must be the entire population of Kamp Apokiliptika! And they are cheering!

Crowd (chanting joyfully): Our Hero! Our Hero!

Announcer (shouting): It is the silliest thing I have ever seen! The crowd is carrying Our Hero thru the streets of Kamp Apokiliptika, showering him with rose petals, and proclaiming him their new Leader! What will the Kernul say!?!

Second Announcer (the important-sounding one): Tune in next week for the continuation of... (is overrun by jubilant crowd.)

++++++++++++++++++++

A coup d'etat? In Kamp Apokiliptika? Will the Kernul, their fearless leader for so long be dumped in favor of a radioactive man of whimsy?

This is gonna be good. Still for safety's sake I think I'll go check out our new DEEP bunker.....just in case this gets a little "heated".

LiveWire-still trying to understand why you are posting art I posted last week. This "radio poster" is old news.

Here you are doing it again. Do you have anything original?

Your systems are breached. Everything new is old again...

LiveWire - tsk, tsk....yet again, you post a graphic that I posted earlier this week.

Do you not intend to create anything new? This does seem a bit inappropriate.....feeling breached????

A Camp Herring counterstrike? Who'da thunk it? Call Ripley's....cause I don't believe it.

And I'm still thinking the Kernul's gonna teach the whimsical one a lesson in "respecting his authority"....At least for those of us watching we hope so.
