Wanted: DIY geodesic dome plans

Post by Matt » Mon Feb 27, 2006 6:05 pm

Would like to put a dome together this year for a bit of an amateur theme camp at 8:00 and fetish area. Want to make a dome /igloo thing. Anyone have the materials and design list for a modest dome? out of that 3/4" or 1/2" pipe. I'd me much indebted, enough to cook you breakfast.

A simple psuedo-dome. If you don't need to be too big.

Just don't use 1/2" conduit.

Image

Even 3/4" conduit can be too skinny for domes larger than about 25' dia.

Yet more dome stuff

Post by typewriter » Mon Mar 27, 2006 3:51 pm

Hello,

A few years ago I built a dome with the help from some cool people on here. So, I thought I would at least share some input back into the collective by posting the pictures and story of building it.

Its a frequency 2 dome, made using 10' tubes available at home depot. This version uses the whole 10' length with no waste.

So hopefully this will help some people. PEACE!
