Happy Mardi Gras, makermoverdoers! Doing anything naughty or delicious for the occasion? (I've got THREE King Cakes rising, and made a hugeass pot of gumbo over the weekend...Dirty Dozen Brass Band on the boombox....Purple, gold and green EL wire blinking in the stairwell...)

My band, Environmental Encroachment, is playing 2 -- count 'em -- 2 gigs tonight: one at a restaurant that serves Southwestern-style cuisine, Flo, and one at the Mercury Cafe just up the street. Any & every Chicago Burner, if they're not at the Mucca Pazza gig, should come out to the Mercury Cafe and (hula) hoop it up with us.

Mercury Cafe is located at 1505 W. Chicago, one block east of Ashland. The gig starts at 10 and ends promptly at midnight.

Happy Mardi Gras everyone!

I'm about to get crackin' on my own King Cake, cream cheese and chocolate chips, Boo-Boo! AND...I even got the sparkly edible purple, green and gold glitter for the top!

I'm planning on gussying up some shrimp and pasta with a Creole cream sauce and don't spare the garlic!

Y'all have a great Mardi Gras, cher! Image

...the infamous Robotland stairwell (that leads to Robotland Labs...)

A fun place even without Mardi Gras, would love to be there...I can only imagine the hijinx that will occur!
