Do you get laser light reflected in the direction opposite the mirror it happens to hit and is it dangerous to people's eyes?
It's what you make it.

Yep... could happen... doesn't stop people from doing it, tho...

You should see my cabinet full of crystal thingies when I hit it with a laser pointer ... sparkly! Ow! Ouch! Pretty! That and the cat goes mad.

high power lasers

Post by EspressoDude » Thu Mar 02, 2006 6:08 pm

depends on the power.....pointers aren't too bad. We have a HIGH POWER 60 watt laser at work that cuts fabric, skin, metal, plastic and must be treated with a lot of respect.. There are some lasers out there that are even more powerful that probably could cut the legs off on the man from outside the BRC

Best not to point any laser at people's faces.
:D I am reasonably careful with my laser pointer that is shoulder
mounted on my Predator costume :D

I have to be careful to play with my laser toys (salvaged from dumpster at the Cancer Center- Huge, but relatively weak.) when the cats are elsewhere...They cry to play with The Red Dot FOR DAYS afterwards.

Careful with those lasers. I for one don't care for having dead spots on my retinas for hours.
On a similar note- Anyone else's contact lenses light up under UV? It's REALLY disorienting!

Hehe, that's what I call it too. My siamese cat is only vaguely interested in The Red Dot, but Harry Buttlicker knows I have one next to the bed and one downstairs; he climbs onto my nightstand and picks it up and drops it on the floor, over and over, most obssessive behavior I've ever seen in a cat. He'll leap four feet up the hall wall after it, now he's taken to leaping in anticipation of The Red Dot.
