Penn and Teller do Burning Man?

Post by phil » Fri Mar 03, 2006 10:04 am

No, not really.

But they did do a video game that was never released. See
http://www.waxy.org/archive/2006/02/28/penn_tel.shtml
for a fuller description, of which this is a part:
The most infamous part was "Desert Bus," a "VeriSimulator" in which you drive a bus across the straight Nevada desert for eight hours in real-time. Then you drive it home. Also, I'd read the bus veers to the right, so you can't just leave the joypad propped up. The rumor was that if you won the game, you got one point.
Sounds like a game for burners to play on the way to a burn!

Surely you are aware that there's more to BM than driving across the desert. :D

Darn right! Once you've driven across, you have to drive BACK.

2 points if you drive there and back! (~16hrs)

Rather than call it Desert Bus, they should have called it Kansas Bus. In the desert, there's scenery; compared with the vast uniformity of corn.

Ditto Iowa, for the most part....Or The Great Salt Lake, at night. (Extra 5 points for driving it with the gas gauge in the red, and having no clue when you'd see a sign that didn't have "no services" on it. That was Burn Year One for me.)
