Hi everyone.
Thought I`d stop in for a quick cup of ritual tea too!
It`s been a hell of a week. Plenty of harrowing tales from ICU and enough fuck-thread fodder to load up several units of bandwidth.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers and good wishes.
They seem to be turning things around, and I greatly appreciate it.
Dad is pulling through physically pretty well. He`s in SICU still,... but there`s talk of moving to a room soon. He`s finally responsive and eating
a little after 5 days with no nourishment and three days of those motherfucking idiots trying to murder him with feeding tubes...(MUCH more on that later...)
....maybe I could use a shot of Maker`s or somethingin that chai....
His muscles and vision have been affected on his right side, and he has Aphasia(language disability) ...He does say "OK" alot...tries to talk but
can`t put words together...he fades in and out of consciousness...I think he kind-of understands what you say
if you keep it simple, but not really sure yet if he knows alot about what`s happening.
I am very optimistic because he, an 80 yr. old, has survived a hemoragic stroke for this long, is in pretty good physical shape, and is showing signs of cognitive improvement....God I hope his mind comes back soon....
....And God please help me as I see the course of my life changing right before my eyes...I had NO fucking idea....
...My Uncle has rebounded amazingly, such a tough old cookie...(pushing 90)... he was literally dying but as a last resort they put some magnet on his chest over his pace maker, and something clicked...his heart is damaged beyond repair, but he is doing wonderfully, wide awake talking his ass off....they`ve taken him off ALL of the equipment...just a few pills, and an occasional shot of Morphine to ease his breathing. He held my hand and talked my ass off for a half hour the other night. He has moved to a bigger room to accomodate family and is holding court and living his life like the hero he really is....
....so we`re not out of the woods yet, but I am very hopeful that things will continue to improve for both these fine gentlemen.
Thanks again Mozy-BC-Bin-Tisha-Everyone for sending good vibes our way...and most of all to sweet Montana...I couldn`t make it without her...
A toast:
To all the tough old coots in our lives: LONG may they LIVE!!!
I`ll check back in with more good news hopefully later...
Love you guys....
EDB
