None of my naked friends have (historically) taken such suggestions seriously. Thank you for giving me hope of a more perfect existence.

The most annoying part of my jammed keyboard is that it capitalizes the first letter of each sentence, adds periods & transposes "i" & "e" when in succession. I'm going to pick up a new one today.

Should be back to normal by tomorrow.

Besides the fact that some people have to relearn how to do things, I don't see what the big deal is about this new board. In fact it IS much better than the old one technically. The last one was like using a Commodore 64 vs. a brand new computer today. The new layout is very similar to about every other messageboard now in existence. There are reasons that format is popular.

Anyway, my only real concern about the board (any board for that matter) is the tendency for people to be "mean-spirited" and rude. I especially don't think it is cool in a community such as Burning Man.

Anyway, where is that button for viewing since last visit?

Peace

P.S. I can edit my spelling errors when I notice them later. It's fortunate that my speed typing is not set in stone once I press the submit button.

It's like the negativity that many people experienced at BM this year was brought home and then amplified onto the e-playa. Of course coming back to the new system was such a shock...you wanted to come home and have some familiarity and it was gone. It would be like coming home after a long trip and finding your house had burned to the ground...and there was no one around to tell you what happened!

As for the other types of negativity floating around, you can't please everybody so I quit trying so much. I like having the ability to change names, and now that Digiman / De Facto / Current Name of the week has settled down he is sparking good discussions.

There is hope for this place yet.

i suspect the people who think this never learned how to use all of the facilites on the old board.

i think it's kind of like claiming that a ford escort is technically superior to a maserati countach because they never learned how to shift out of first gear and can only get it up to 50 mph.

Just for the record, De Facto, Duh Facto are not the same as Kinetic / Ailchinn. Sometimes I feel people will confuse us, he's racking up posts and doing lots of things I used to do when I was spaced out so much.

I felt posting a disclaimer was appropriate.

Would one of you be so kind as to tell me how to find Harriet's board? I'd like to at least check it out for the comparison.
It's not that I hate you. It's just that I'm a much better person than you.

It is still under construction so glitches, availability and log in are sketchy. If you can handle that, go for it.

Note that, whereas the current version of the official E-Playa resembles a blog, Harriet's home-made BBS resembles a bunch of people conversing via typewriter, with the occasional picture tacked up on the wall.

Personal preferences vary.

then you may want to consider changing some of your behavior. while a lot of the recent departees had a number of issues, the fact that most of them signed off permanently right after you started your posting spree indicates that for some of them, at least, you may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.

Happy? (smirk)

I'm learning...
But he still ticked me off.

And it's hard to work and put in posts with all the chaos going on around me all of a sudden. I had some nice quiet posting time and then bam, boom, things went straight to hell with the networks. I love Mondays!

Is your previous post your solution to your the perceived problem?

Bob has PM and email links; -take your grievances with him offline instead of pulling the board into it.

What? He doesn't reply?

That is his prerogative

Flaming him here does nothing to improve the tenor of the boards.

Clue time:

This is a STELLAR example of shit that needs to be taken to PM.

Please don't bother with excuses, the "I'm sorries...", the..."it's because..." or whatever.

Just do it please. Read what you wrote above and recognize this is as a pretty good example of the kind of posting that people generally find equally as annoying as what you accuse Bob of doing.

Better yet, exercise the delete button.

It's hard to be positive when your carrying around a lot of negative baggage...so I'm trying to get it fixed....

Notice the offer of the bribe....I'm trying to be positive with it!

All I want to do is clear up some posts on H's board and find out some technical questions about the East Bay Bridge that he would know.

And would you stop pulling out your personal baggage issues like it was some kind of a dance ticket? Really, its getting old and stale and should be retired.
