Travelling from London, England to San Francisco and onto BM

Post by sweeneytodd » Thu Aug 19, 2004 7:47 am

Hi everyone

Just wanted to let you know that two of us first timers are making the trip. We're flying from Heathrow 28/8 into SF and renting an RV. Not much planning gone into this trip and guess we'll find out stuff as we go along.

Can anyone advise on getting about 300 gallons of water to fill a kids pool - it gonna be our plunge pool for the event. Is water available at the event or do we need to take it in? Also, any ideas for getting a tarp cover to put the thing in shade? :?

Anyway, if anyone wants to say hi or wants to meet up with a couple of Brits, were here :D

Not sure if you are a registered theme camp but the best way to do this is to talk to somebody in the BM organisation. There are watertrucks driving around the playa, spraying water on the road to avoid dust. They might be able to hook you up in exchange for a donation.

As far as your tarp cover is concerned, I suggest visiting a target store, they sell huge gazebo's and tarps cheaply, i think the gazebo's come straight out of the box, easy as pie.

good luck and drop by camp klepto @ 3th & mercury.

Thanks Jake

We're not a registered theme camp but think of something to offer. See you there :)

Anyone Brits travelling in?

Mike, the water truck guy with potable water... water you can actually drink enjoys being gifted fruit drinks in a 12 ounce can. tell him Joel said hi.

Lots of Brits will be at BM. Have a look at www.euroburners.org for details of London meet ups over the next few months and a big burner party on the 6th of May.

Dave.
