The new bot has been formally complained about in the Case Studies thread, a PM was also sent to the "Admin" account to alert Emily and a PM was sent to Spanky.

Now all anyone can do is sit back and watch the mess unfold until the admins give it the boot.

sunshine highway seems to have selected threads also used by grand wizard hornsby. so maybe SH is a vandal and not a bot, like GWH. ?

Is it a script or really someone trying to disrupt the board?

It's too early to tell IMHO. I hope it's a stupid script kiddie exploiting code that Spanky can patch which would slam the door in it's face.

I doubt it's a script. If you check the timestamps on the posts there are a couple of minutes between each posting. A script would be much faster. It sounds like someone has way too much time on his hands.

1800 posts like that seems like a tall order for someone to sit down and do...unless they were really pissed off at the board and dedicated almost a full day to taking it down. I'm thinking it's a bot. But there are enough inconsistencies to raise doubts.....

If they show up again we've seen the pattern twice...after alerting the admins let's watch carefully and see what we can learn about it. But I'm hopeful that won't be necessary.

I think its a combination of the two, some looser with time and effort to rewrite on-the-fly.

There is also a 15 second delay on posting, so that explains why it wasn't quite at normal "bot speed".
