Mighty Mouse at the Thunderdome

Post by antron » Tue Sep 09, 2003 10:39 am

one of my favorite experiences was thursday watching a costumed mightymouse climb across the inside of the thunderdome hand over hand during a lull between mahem.

death guilders really got pissed at him, sprayed him with water -- i suppose to make him come down, but maybe to have him fall and break his neck, which he didn't -- and when he climbed down told him to ge the fuck out of the dome.

pissy anarchists don't like their shit hacked.

good times.

I had such a crush on Mighty Mouse when I was a little girl and didn't understand the whole cross-species thing (well, I guess I knew he was a mouse, and a cartoon to boot, but still...those ears....). Wish I could have seen him thumb his nose at all those thunderdomeheads who left their SOH at home. Was he singing the Mighty Mouse song too?????
gotta walk thru the ouch to get to the awe

I missed Thunderdome this year, but this image is making me smile.

Pissy anarchist deathguilders, that's rich!

I was that mouse...

OK, so only took me a month to learn about e-playa and notice this message...!

I'm glad you were entertained by the whole thing...was the rest of the crowd amused or pissed? I couldn't tell...

I thought I was being so polite by waiting until an obvious lull in the action, and had hoped my little flying stunt would have been welcome between-round entertainment. Who would have thought that the "Death Guild" could be so pissy?!

I was a bit bummed that their reaction was so negative, but then again...being chased out of the thunderdome by the Death Guild for somehow "breaking the rules" in such an anything-goes environment was delightfully satisfying in its own way, and sure added to my whole experience. :)

Well while I'm sorry that I missed this entertaining bit of levity, I know why DG is protective of the dome. Thousands of dollars of damage have been done to the dome by people abusing it or breaking what rules they do have. The dome is not invincible. I also disagree about BM being a free for all. Respect for the property is a dying virtue out there.
Be the change you seek in the world.

People climbing toward the top, where the sign is, has cost us a lot of money. People hanging from the inside have fallen & been injured and, well, that tends to put a damper on things.
