And thanks for the NEB explanation. I was thinking never-ending bar or something and it didn't make any sense. Heck much of what I'm involved with makes no sense. But that's another story.
Well, if you used a Mac and turned on Popup blocker on Safari like I do, you wouldn't get them. One post left MughHungus. Oooops four more. How about VI Citenik

KIV-Thanks for asking the NEB question. Whenever anyone said it, I just smiled and went with it, because I didn't know what it was either. I thought it was an acronym for for an emergency blanket, like the shining thin First Aid ones! :D

well hello my pretties!!

my goodness....i just love the *smell* of this place!!! i must pop in more often!

my humble and random thoughts on a BAR on the playa~

it would, of course, need to be a rather solid structure to withstand the winds.
it, really, just won't be the same as here, you know....it won't be populated 24/7...you won't be able to read last night's conversations.
nad stock is an issue. unless it's *always* BYOB....hmmmm i like that...
i just feel that it might be a bit....disappointing. UNLESS - someone really took on building a good, cool, sturdy structure. i like the round idea. and it should be shaded! and then it would need some kind of constant tender, wouldn't it? at least a host-camp (thanks espressodude!!). maybe a dry-erase board for notes...

also - it's always this time of year that folks get to really missing the playa and kind of romanticizing this here eplaya and talking about recreating it in the desert somehow...truth is, once yer out there, there's a whole fucking lot more to do/see than sit around a plywood bar with the same folks you chat with in here all year long. no offense, my sweets. also - the eplaya meet n greet at Barbie Death Camp (traditionally Thursday nights) offers a one-off guaranteed time & place to meet and get wasted with all yer favorite eplaya friends. last year i even brought a mobile bar! no promises this year....and fer chrissakes, i won't get balls-out SMASHED within 1/2 an hour of arriving....

my thoughts...
let's have shots...
before my brain rots...
where's the jots...?

Speaking of iPods, working for a computer service agency (Geek Squad) I can tell you that you'd be dumb to buy one. Their one-year failure probability are over .3, and their two-year failure probability approaches one. Their Li-Ion batteries begin losing capacity after under 200 charge cycles. And here's something they don't tell you: parts and labor, a new battery for a 5gen iPod costs $255, direct.

Go with a Creative Zen or a Philips GoGear.

Hmmm. I don't have an iPod, nor do I want one, I have Sirius. I was referring to my computer. I have had and used Macs since '92. Never had a crash. Never had to spend lots o dough on virus protection. Never had problem one. So I was just making a suggestion.

Bunarchy?
If I'm right, I want to thank Cryptofishist for making the "Bar" Index thread, which helped me navigate hundreds of pages in seconds.
But, if I'm wrong, it was worth a shot! :D

All agree... Tish's the hots!!! >giggles<

And I'm with ya... no I solemnly vow that I will not be totally shitfaced and passing out within a half hour of arriving at the M&G this year... (But we won't talk about *2* half hours, right?? >grins<)

Now, where'd I put that Deutsches Jaegarmeister... You know, the one with the orange label (and that something "extra" you can't get here...)
