I would like it if it were not hitting to popular media. But that is progression. Snowballs going down hill get bigger and word of mouth becomes rumor becomes ledgend becomes a new angle on a news story. Think of those lost who would not have heard of it otherwise. They belong to the same human race as we do. All things change but in that they remain the same. That is a comfort.

Hey Peacekeeper, you're right, it's totally all image and money except that I don't make a fucking bean from it, it's just FREE music pal, love it, hate it, be indifferent, whatever that's cool. It's sentiment is anti-establishment and I figured there might be some people on here that like that kind of thing. I don't doubt you make a shitload of money in the real world when you're not waving a fucking glowstick. No, sorry, I take that back, I ain't assuming nothing about you man, perhaps you could extend others the same courtesy. There you go.

Close to the bottom of the interview. Question: What is the best place you have ever flown to?
Those who think they can and those who think they can't are both right.

hey chimp,

my issue is not with you, nor do i make any assumptions about you.
But when your misleading post leads to a site that contains the following obviously commercial material,
and i quote

The limited edition debut single "CRUELTY BOXES" is SOLD OUT

Slogan Records' second fastest selling release to date - now only available as collectors item on Ebay.

"In HELL Brian Jones & Sid Vicious raise a toast. The anti-bore rock
fightback starts HERE" - NME

THE LANCASTER BOMBERS believe in the salvation of the soul via the
medium of rock n' roll" - L'uomo Vogue

NME and L'uomo Vogue? Very anti-establishment....

hmm, well, whether you make a bean or not from the lancaster bombers,
this is still a very commercial site, which is all i'm pointing out. perhaps you should take your band to the burn and give out free cds?

Furthermore, I'm couchsurfing right now, working on a building site, and listening to aphex, sans glowstick.

The Thunderdome eh? well that sure would rock, if you could survive the crazies on the little motorbike.... and i would surely advise people to get the hell down there and check it out, it would be flockin cool.

anyway, enjoy the english summer, and best of luck with the bombers....

but there was this point where I was watching this 30-foot Temple in the desert on liquid acid, and MDMA and mushrooms, the works really, and all I could hear was all this fucking drumming, this native American drumming which was obviously because I was on acid, but the lake there is the centre of their creation myth... anyway when I came round in the morning I had these war stripes on my face and I have no idea where I got them."

*Yawn* So he went tripping, and heard some drums. Great. The stripes on his face were probably from people slapping him and telling him not to be such a predictable wanker.

Burn It Down

Post by Chimp » Mon Mar 27, 2006 3:52 am

Charmed by the last comment, it was fairly tongue in cheek but I guess irony can get pretty lost on some people (I did actually refer to it making me sound like a 'total wanker' in the interview).

So anyway...for those at all interested there is this new song on our website called 'Burn It Down', partly about me and my younger brother and our mother's cancer and death and the apocalypse (sheesh) and partly about the burn (hooray!) - so if you fancy listening to it you can reach it through here

http://www.playlouder.com/news/+the-roswell-sess/

or through

www.thelancasterbombers.com - click on The Roswell Sessions

Yes there was an extraterrestrial present

Fucking hope I get to the burn this year, disappearer eyes and love...to everyone

Jpx

It's more free music.

It's still self-promotion, which isn't supposed to be done on this BBS.

True enough. However, his post might have generated less grief if he had stated: "I'm in this band, I love Burning Man, here's my website ..."

While I hold no grudge nor ill will, I did feel slightly misled; I was expecting a news story of some sort and got tricked into looking at a promotional site.

The problem is this sort of minor-seeming trickery is that it is now accepted business practice; "hey, whatever works!" but it's dishonest (however minor) and we're all paranoid about escalation of culturally poor habits (I'm projecting here).

Irony works only when the context is clear and/or everyone knows you to know you are kidding.

Looks like commerce to me.

Flames to /dev/null.
