Been poppin in and out of the e-playa - updating firewall and other stuff that takes forever on dialup - but here I am, leave the megaphone under the table, C. My son would drool over that setup, Clark. He was always hauling home electronics from thriftstores, tearing it apart and reassembling strange creations. Just noticed that tonight "registered users" outnumber "guests" - Zule, your posters must have had an effect. Enough rambling. Any of those margaritas left?

So Karine has been down in Pearlington with Burners Without Borders for around 5 weeks or so. And now that they’ve done a bang-up job down there, the group is finished and people are heading out. They’re done for now. The gear and several folks are pulling out for Gerlach either tomorrow or Wednesday morning, I believe and they have everything packed up now, except for a couple of tents.
I’m very proud of the work they’ve done, and especially the work she’s done both with BWB and with her own non-profit. And last Monday I found a way to come close to showing her how proud I am of her. On that first day of Spring, I drove the twelve hours down to Pearlington and gave Karine a surprise visit. I got there around 8 pm that evening and that night... we became engaged.
It should be noted that she and I have both agreed that this may take several years to bring together due to our current geographic and situational limits, but we are fine with that. We wish to take our time and meld our lives together in a slow and well planned manor. We’ve known each other since the ‘04 Burn and it seems to click pretty well. So there’s a bit of happy news...
