Because everyone over in the bar thread right now thinks this is a good idea and I should post it here. Heli has one that we can use if someone can pick it up. Otherwise one can be made or bought. Portables are available online

It's going to be alright.

The KD StarShade 400 canopy is tension fabric tent supported by a single center-pole and ground up tension. This unique and patented design is ideal for smaller Outdoor Events and can seat approximately 44 people at banquet tables. The StarShade 400 requires a 43 foot diameter set-up area and folds down into 3 carry bags that fit in the trunk of most standard vehicles.
Base:
Unique Tension Structure Design
400 Square Feet of Complete Coverage Area
6 Elegant Arches
Aluminum Parts—no rusting
Sets Up in Minutes
Canopy is for Outdoor Use—requires depth for 30 inch stakes
Free Carry Bags for Complete Unit
Tent Top:
250 Denier Oxford Polyester—both strong and lightweight
Water Resistant, Fire Retardant, and UV Protected
Eight Bold Canopy Colors
Custom Screen-Printed Graphics
Full-Cover Digital Printing
I really like this Canopy.

That canopy seems to belong on the playa...I can sit here and visualize it in the middle of a camp. It just fits...I don't know how else to put it.

I love it I think we need to get some basic idea this week or next on how much room we really need it seems to me that we are getting big enough to ask the Mayor for more frontage but we need facts....50' X 100' would let us set that up and still have room for Robbi's driveway.
I need to look at the AEZ 2006 wiki and get and idea what the camps set up is like The mayor sent out a mail on the list about not drawing the actual placement map till June but he wants numbers from all the big camps. If you go to the Wiki or AEZ website look at the 2005 map to get an idea of where we are and layout.

only if you dance first...
call me crazy, but it's looking to me like y'all are gettin to the point of asking fer yer own darn property...with all the campers & space already committed, this looks like it could be a good 1/4 to 1/2 a block of a camp.

We only really need frontage for the Bar and driveway the camp can go deep which has advantages.

Mozy, that stretch shade structure is awsome. I bet, also (from it's ergonomics) that it would be highly wind resistant...the angles make the wind shift up and over, as opposed to pushing flat against a wall (all bad). Plus, being that it's low, it coincides with the being humble, lay down or crawl in aspect.

Some Utah folks scrounged this one, old Red Bull tent which they turned inside out and repainted. Makes a cool bar indeed.

Just so you know, if I'm gong to be an "official " cook for the camp, I'll need to know what's expected of me, and I don't currently have the kind of stove I would need. I'd say I might be able to come up with one(a real one) and would do breakfast most days. I will have other obligations, and don't really want a new full time job, but I DO love to cook, and would do a dinner or lunch or snack once or twice, too. Then again, if the set-up is nice enough, I might not let anyone else have a turn. lol.
I love this new tent idea, definitely awesome.
Anybody have an idea exactly how many of us are going to be utilizing our little hotspot?

On It. but I think some color would be good. But I am willing to take suggestions for a logo. Who knows I might like it. White is good also then We can color the Canopy with gelled lights.
I agree White can turn any color with lights at night.........

At this point no. but when we get closer we may want to buy a back up pole.can we help with $?
so if we have a pole Fail on the playa we can replace and we are back in biz.
We will see how the tent performs in rentals then that will tell me what to do from there.
There is a diffrent tent that works about the same but you can get rain walls for that one. allot more poles for that one and lots more money.
I like this one.
