I know I have some playa dust in a jar.... I washed out my tent, collected the water, dried it,,, about a 1/4" in the bottom of a bucket......

SOAK*2006 takes place July 14-16 and is a weekend-long event in the spirit of Burning Man for Oregon, the Northwest, and beyond. It is a vehicle for the Portland burner community and our neighbor communities to celebrate together on a smaller scale (and with a much shorter drive).

SOAK thrives on attendee participation; the event will feature music, art, performance, and a Saturday night spectacle all contributed by YOU. It is a SELF-RELIANT LEAVE-NO-TRACE event - bring everything you need, pack it in, and pack it out.

From Portland

Drive southbound on I-5 to Salem. Take exit 256 to Sunnyview Road. Turn left at light and drive approximately 1.5 miles on Sunnyview Road eastbound to the intersection of Sunnyview and Cordon Rd. Turn Right at Cordon Road and drive southbound approximately 1.8 miles south to State Street. Turn left on to State Street and drive east approximately 3.6 miles to Howell Prairie Road intersection. Turn right on to Howell Prairie Road and head southbound approximately 1.4 miles to Deschutes Road. At this point you should see a sign for Miller Family Ranch on the left hand side and the street sign indicating Deschutes Road. Follow Deschutes Road around the sharp curves in Road. At about 2 miles you’ll see signs indicating the entrance for Soak. You’ll turn left off Deschutes Road onto a small dirt road just before a large red barn on the left (north side) of Deschutes Road.

Turn left on to Cordon Road and drive northbound approximately 1.7 miles to the State Street intersection. Turn right on to Howell Prairie Road and head southbound approximately 1.4 miles to Deschutes Road. At this point you should see a sign for Miller Family Ranch on the left hand side and the street sign indicating Deschutes Road. Follow Deschutes Road around the sharp curves in Road. At about 2 miles you’ll see signs indicating the entrance for Soak. From Bend

Drive Hwy 20 (Mckenzie Bend Hwy) Northwest toward Sister approximately 21 miles. In Sisters, Oregon continue northwest via Hwy 126 (Santiam Hwy)/Hwy 20 approximately 26 miles to the Santiam Junction. Take Hwy SR-22 (Santiam Hwy) northbound from the Junction toward Salem. DO NOT take the left turn to US-20. Continue northbound on SR-22 approximately 78 miles where you’ll enter Salem. Turn right onto Cordon Road and drive northbound approximately 1.7 miles to State Street. Turn right on to State Street and drive east approximately 3.6 miles to Howell Prairie Road intersection. Turn right on to Howell Prairie Road and head southbound approximately 1.4 miles to Deschutes Road. Many thanks to our Salem Burner, Voluptasia, who informed me that Cordon Road crosses over Hwy 22 but there is no intersection there and thus you can't turn from 22 onto Cordon. Instead of Cordon take Lancaster Drive SE.
