OLD burner here

Post by scruffyboy » Tue Apr 11, 2006 6:53 pm

Why, I remember back in 96....
Don't you just HATE veterans like that. I DO, however miss the drive-by shooting range. LOVED taking pot-shots at Barney the purple dinosaur in particular!
I presently live in Key West,FL so it's much more of an adventure getting to Black Rock City these daze. Really looking forward to it this year. It's been too long dammit! I'm going through playa dust withdrawals!

Maybe you try taking a big ziploc of playa dust home with you to sprinkle in your food and hair when the urge hits.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be missed and would qualify as leaving no trace. . .

:-) Fortunately, it's not an alternative. It's multiple choice. By continuing some traditions and grabbing on to new ones, old burners never burn out. Acting consistently over time with the concurrence of our fellow burners, but taking up new activities that are the result of shared purposes preserves the essential beingness of Burning Man without stultifying it.

So hang on to the old, grab on to the new, and meld them into the ongoing rituals that embody the crunchy goodness of burnerdom. That's a wonderful contribution to make to our fellows on the playa.
