motorized sofa
Ok, so I'm set to build one, if I can only figure out how. Does anyone have an email or website for any of the people who built motorized couches for prior burns?
I was very impressed with one in particular that happened to be electric and could hold four people in the couch and another five on a bar standing up in the back. I studied it for about ten minutes before he took off, but wasn't able to look inside how he managed steering and traction on such a wide wheelbase.
In concept, I was thinking of a gas 5 hp motor coupled to a hydraulic pump and two hydraulic motors on each end. I have no idea to pull this off and would like to find a parts list.
Leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you want to do something like that, you'll probably need to run it past BRC DMV first. Hate for you to go through all the trouble and then get told you can't drive it around the city. Maybe you should consider a pedal couch? It's original, and since it's human powered, you won't have to go through DMV at all.

Check this couch bike. Might help avoid the DMV troubles if it's not motorized.

I know it's been done before...
But even so, I want to get the chasis right, then embellish the rest into something interesting. Just need som consultation on the mechanics of the thing.
As many motor sofas as there has been, I thought someone would be able to find an email to someone who has built one that was reliable. I tried searching the web and couldn't find any contact info, only photos that led to a dead end.

I'd start with a motorized inflatable chair.
