Status: Volunteer

Years of Service: 11

Date of Incident: 4/08/2006

Time of Incident: 1630 hours

Date of Death: 4/11/2006

Department Name: Elkton Fire Department

Address: PO Box 309, 109 Elk Street, Elkton, South Dakota 57026 Department Telephone: 605-542-7731 Fire Chief: Ryan Bebensee

Incident Description: On 4/08/06 the Elkton Fire Department was summoned at approximately 1600 hours to a controlled burn that had escaped its boundaries and appeared to be threatening neighboring property. During the firefighting activities, the truck Firefighter Kuehl was driving became stuck and a tractor was obtained in an effort to get the truck loose. While in the process to free the truck a clevis attached to the tractor broke, and the tow rope recoiled through the truck's windshield striking Kuehl in the head. Firefighter Kuehl was taken by ambulance to a Brookings South Dakota Hospital, and then airlifted to Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Kuehl passed away of the injuries he received on 4/11/2006.

Had all the training for asbestos never did any though so its a purple(HEPA) cartridge? is it like the new thing for stylish asbestos work and Playa protection what brand?
