i have locked the Alfredriko account and banned both of his IP addys. i can't believe he posted more than 1600 times... in every freakin' thread. spanky's gonna love this.

Those 10K pixels really freaked me out, I thought my computer was going to explode. Some of us don't have blazing hot e-speed.
Is it possible to do a search for this "giant" and delete them?
There's one on "phone booth on the playa" in the Experiences thread. I'm afraid to open a thread w/ Guest as the last submitter now.

AFAIK there is no way to go and just delete all of those posts with one click. I spent several hours one day removing all of his posts from the Q & A section. Since then I've just taken to removing the posts when I see someone responding to a thread where he has posted.
Removing the posts is a very tedious task requiring several clicks. I'd imagine that we could spend several more hours on this project.
The most frustrating thing, this could all happen again tomorrow. There has been nothing installed to prevent anyone from posting hundreds of posts per hour, and only 3 or 4 people have the ability to freeze or delete accounts, of those only one person, Emily, regularly appears here.
Oh, and I did delete his post in the Phone Booth Thread.

spanks is the only person with direct access to login and do queries directly against the db. part of the problem was to immediately stop the poster by deleting the account, and you can see now that the user/ownership of the posts defaulted to guest.

yeah, there's no way through the admin panels to get rid of those quickly. i'm not sure if we ever were able to limit the image width thing, but in this case when he posted the original image, it was a size that was acceptable, now he's gone and replaced the happy cat image with a larger sized one.
google can be our friend for finding the rest of these since the phpbb search sucks so bad. this search:
http://www.google.com/search?as_q=%22He ... =&safe=off
shows we've got just more than 800 to go, which means chai and sb have squashed more than half of alfredricko's damage! hooray!
i agree the whole situation with getting mods installed or getting direct work on the database done is frustrating. hell, the fact that i'm still going in every day or two to look at and delete the offending profiles of every new user is frustrating. but i'm just a volunteer sitting 3000 miles and 3 time zones away from the Org office, so I just do what I can.
eta: stupid url links NEVER work for me!

Wonder if you can somehow go after the hoster of the alfredriko picture? Don't know why I didn't think of this before, but when you pull up the asscat pix properties you get the following source URL...
http(colonslashslash)www(dot)degruchy(dot)org/images/misc/happycat(dot)jpg
Chasing the cats tail further, this degrunchy.org is a blog addy. Might someone be able to backtrack to its owner? Just a thought... esp. since this person claims to be so computer savvy iin it's blogs...
I know you must've already ran this down... but if you didn't... might be able to find the responsible party. Then??? Who knows.
