I try not to form an opinion of people based on my online interactions. I've done this in the past and found myself regretting both liking and disliking people based solely on this information.

That being said, you were rejected from performing an unpaid job. Not just any job mind you, but we’re talking about DPW, which isn’t exactly known for it’s “people skills”. Having worked in non-profits and other organizations that rely heavily on volunteers, that is quite an accomplishment.

i've participated in long-term clean-up for the last two years, and this year i requested info about transitioning to set-up...

didn't openly volunteer so much as send the request to the appropriate person in the chain of command...

i redirected the incident to this forum to see what unfolds through interactive (if chaotic) discussion...

in my perspective they made their choices based on direct experience of me and how i've been operating in life during the times that i was working with them...

obviously they see something i don't, so i'm fishing for some feedback and seeing if they are willing to discuss it here on eplaya...

i was offered pay this last year and personally i declined...didn't like the idea of filing a w2, didn't like the idea of working for an unconventional organization in a conventional context, and i figured it was better karma all the way around...
