Temple burn, inner circle

Post by PureJoy » Thu Sep 04, 2003 5:53 pm

After the temple collapsed, I ran like many others into the "inner circle" (close to the fire) and the few hours that followed there by the fire were extremely intense and spiritual for me (the heat, the energy, the auras, the communion). Anyone had a similar experience?

So nice! There's a very special thing that happens in the wake of the burning rituals. That little slice of time after the temple this year especially -- the burning, the chanting, the people, the drugs, the honeydew joy dripping ripe and shameless -- will stick to my mind's ribs like a good peanut butter sandwitch for years to come.

I agree with you, PureJoy. I love burningman for a huge variety of reasons. But there's something about the closeness to the huge fire that transforms me into the deepest spiritual place. And also the closeness to all the other people who are similarly affected...
